OFFICIAL Spring Allergies Thread

ive been good with just taking zyrtec lately and randomly waking up in the middle of the night blowing my nose for a half hour and popping a decongestant and going back to bed. I started doing the neti pot as of late last week and was good until yesterday I felt a burn/itch begin in the top/back on mouth. now today my face hurts, clogged up sinuses, itch/burn in back of mouth and eyes puffy... dr apt tonight @7... feels like it could be sinus infucktion...

nose blowing mad man
This is why I stopped neti pottin'

I found that is is too easy to do it the wrong way and have water get stuck in your sinuses with can lead to sinus infections. It is hard to tell if any if getting trapped in there and if you got it all out. I would lean forward at work with my head (looking at a phone or something) and water would come out my nose. So use wisely.

And yes, I have noticed an increase in the stuffiness the last week but I take zyrtec everyday anyways so it is minimal.

i don't remember the outcome from the doctor, pretty sure it ended with a prescription for antibiotics which really ruins the quality of life.

mid march i went to Texas for a wedding and they have an early bloom of everything, it was pretty bizarre seeing the green on the trees. needless to say i was miserable the 2nd day there. i am now 40 days deep and onto the next bottle of it. i fair pretty well during the flower bloom, but once the trees are in bloom its a different story. the neti pot was always so weird to me but trusted people swear by it.

I agree about the weirdness, like hey, drowned yourself with this thing helps!

My allergist said I should start taking meds around Ides of March. I didn't.

I've been stuffy/itchy for the past three weeks. Meds helping but still annoying. Worst after rides/practice with the cherubs.

Man as i get older the more i can feel the punch. This year especially, anyone else. I have yet to take a substance for relief, just plow through it, but it's becoming an issue.
Watering eyes, constant sneezing and a heavy mucus load. I guess it's time to grab something OTC until I can see a dr.

i've been mainlining zyrtek and claritin. figured it was cv19, but no fever.
it is a bad year.

Mild winter and everything is blowing at once. I take stuff all year so for me it’s just extra mucus. But it’s been heavy the past 2 weeks.

I have terrible allergies took a nasal spray for 2 days but covid scared me out of using it since I think it was a steroid and i don't want to compromise my immune system. I haven't sneezed or anything since Feb. I think I'm allergic to being in the office, all kidding aside there most likely mold or something. Its an old ass building from the 80s or 70s which is starting to make sense.

I’m full time singulair. Part time Flonase. A few days ago I was getting a lot of mucus but its calmed down

Ha, that was me. Three weeks ago allergies came on strong just as Covid hit NJ...crappy timing! Definitely worse allergies this year than ever before but combo of Xyzal, Nasacort and Zaditor is helping.

I used Zyrtec for a long before switching to Xyzal-more effective and worth a shot for those of you on the former.

Yeah I've been hitting the Zyrtec for about a month now...but to @mattybfat point, this year my eyes are super itchy and I'm so gun-shy to touch them because everybody saying don't touch face!

Holy moly! Anyone else suffering? Spent the day outside yesterday weeding and other stuff. Paying for it today!

This year has been my least worst season in some time. Taking a break in Rick Land right now. So feeling great today on that front.

Only a light drip right now. Just cut and wacked the lawn, and will do some tree work shortly.
I'm surprised it is bad - all the yellow scourge and tree flowers got wiped out by the cold weather.

I got hammered by it this week! Cut the grass Monday evening after work, but it didn’t hit me until Tuesday afternoon. Just finally starting to feel normal again today but my nose is raw from blowing it so much!!!

Last two weeks I’ve been dying down here. Worse than I can remember. What’s everyones goto drug?
