"Official" BIYF 2016-2017 thread

went out this morning on the road looking for christmas lights. strava bombed out and didn't record the first 38 minutes of my ride. i'll leave it to the judges, but total ride time is a couple minutes over an hour.

as far as christmas lights go, i honestly wasn't expecting any lights to be on at 5 am. but i found the motherload. the central nerve of christmas is in hillsborough. unfortunately the display was off. i'm gonna have to go back at night to get a pic of this place. it has a radio station you can tune in on to listen to christmas tunes while sitting in your car. there's even a hot air balloon suspended over everything.

the only thing i found on (besides a few lame light displays) was this one house that put in a good effort. they had this blow-up archway that changed color and a light up "JOY" that did the same.

I only had time for a quickie today, so I went over to explore Mountain Way Park, AKA Watnong Mountain. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. What's there is really nice single track, although there is unfortunately not that much of it. I'd say it reminds me of the Tourne, but probably with more climbing and maybe more rocks. It's not really worth driving to, but it would work nicely as a cut through. I also spied some power lines heading back toward Route 10 that can definitely be incorporated into a larger loop.

Since Rob graciously upped the ante from bogus points to pints, me and my blankie are back in.

Did a longer road ride to get to 250K elevation gain for the year. I'll take 3 pints of your finest sir
