"Official" BIYF 2016-2017 thread

Moments before the 10am trade deadline that I just made up, both @thegock and @w_b have agreed to cat up to Elite. Now @Mountain Bike Mike has some competition, and @liong71er has probably been out on one single bike ride since he last posted. So you're all screwed!

This shakeup also puts @huffster and @teabagger11 in a new battle for 1st, with @JimN and @choop still within reach.

PS: I have been sick for a week now, hopefully I can start riding again this weekend.

2/17 - lunch ride 1:11:02

Felt like climbing and checking out some of the HOH dirt / going gravel roads.

Wilson and Lakeview Rd were in pretty good shape..

Hello, Elite!

Ride #1

Never rode the Henry Hudson Bike Path and also wanted to check out Atlantic Highlands.

Ride #2

Added 12 minutes to the Strava time, because I forgot to start the Garmin in the Claypit Creek lot and noticed in the middle of Huber. Looked at a flyby and saw twelve minutes on the (downhill) return leg . I hope this advanced scientific methodology conforms to elite standards?

Below is a picture from Ride #1 taken in a posh neighborhood of Atlantic Highlands. The contrast is not good but that is the Manhattan skyline on the other side of the ocean.

So as I was thinking I needed 6 min to beat my longest ride wrong I remembered as I was riding I did this to get to the 4 hr mark not to long ago so I had to ride more than 6 minutes so I did
Don't know if this counts as my longest ride but I got to 4 hrs either way, I will let the judges decide on the bonus

I love this stuff

You're all good on the bonus, gotta do what you gotta do. The year I did the Halter's July challenge I had to do loops around my neighborhood one day because I had a bit of food poisoning, and I couldn't be more that a minute away from a shitter. So, it's all good!

However I did notice your ride from January 6th got entered twice, so I had to take off 4.49 points. Sorry dude.

2/17/17: Was able to negotiate a few days off between jobs and jumped on the opportunity to ride with a couple of buddies yesterday. The trails were packed down pretty well and with the cold temps, everything was frozen and hard-packed. As the temps rose, the snow started to soften up making it very difficult to climb anything with the slightest elevation as well as navigate through the snow. It didn't help that I was riding my "skinny" tires.

IMHO, the trails in the Allamuchy/Andover area will be a mess this weekend. There is still 3"-4" of snow which will be soft and sloppy with the warm temps. Sticking to the road if I'm able to get back out.

Distance: 8 Miles
Moving Time: 1:35:04
