On Saturday I unfortunately wasn't able to make it to the big mtbnj group ride at Stephens, SP, but I was able to get out in thew afternoon for a ride and take advantage of the relative warm temps. I wanted to ride for about 2 hours and I managed to slightly exceed that. Even with the warm temperatures, people were still on the lake ice fishing.

Warm and foggy today, the trails are a mix of good and crap. The good ones have heavy leaf cover and are great riding.
The fire roads are mostly ice. Other well traveled trails are muddy. The beach is really cool, a combination of frozen sand
and loose sand with a snow mix. I had a great time this morning.

Banged out a solid 22 miles of mixed terrain on CX bike w/35c gravel tires.
Rode to the traction line, took that into Morristown, then made my way over to the beginning of Patriots Path, down behind Marty's. Took that to the lot across from Sunrise Lake at LewMo, and took the road back from there. Going up Boat Loop Climb on a CX bike with 42/32 gearing and gravel tires was, umm, fun?

Overall, was a great ride. Energy levels coming back up as my "diet" progresses.

Too many bike pics for one ride: -2 pts

Circumstances last week led to a solid week of bike rest, so I broke it with a super fun ride on the CX bike today. Probably ill-advised from a training perspective, but I couldn't resist an opportunity to ride in summer kit during January.

Took some quick looks at Belmont and Wiss trails from the gravel, even that is a complete mess. The Boxer's trail was perfect though. It is almost always the first to be ride able in the thaws.

Philly is one of my favorite places to ride

I Managed to get out for a late afternoon ride until just about sunset on Sunday. I wasn't expecting to get to ride both days this weekend, so just like that I doubled my BIYF2018 ride count!

Headed out to Long Valley and past Hacklebarney State Park.
