Hi all, first off, Thank you. Thanks to our donors, our volunteers and our members.
There are many, many different topics raised I can reply to but don't have the space. FYI, each month on the 15th at 8PM I have open office hours. It's in our
Google Calendar and
upcoming events page. Join and AMA.
Financials, all our IRS filings are at the
bottom of our about page. I have a Google spreadsheet I use for managerial accounting, it's a check register, pro forma P&L, it tracks chapter stipends and restricted donations. It is shared with the executive committee. I can share it with any board member. Some quick notes, the vast bulk of the money we spend is on program service expenses, the programs JORBA runs to support it's missions. Chapter Expenses, Project Expenses, Tools & Equipment and Grant Expenses. This goes directly to the parks and trails you ride. With advice from Michael Vitti of CLIMB and insurance expertise from Gabby Lougo we have managed to greatly reduce our insurance costs. On the revenue side, income from donations and membership increased 49% from 2019 to 2020.
We have some challenges, membership growth is a major one. That is one of the major reasons behind us implementing CiviCRM software. In the past, donors, volunteers and members were all in separate silos, PayPal, Paydirt and aMember. We had know easy way of knowing if a volunteer was a member or not. We have not had a clear line of communication. Many JORBA chapter leads run their own mailing list, FB group or meetup. More silos. CiviCRM isn't the answer to everything, but it's a start.
New Jersey needs mountain bike only trails. Multi-use trails are a bare minimum, but the mountain bike trails being built around the world today are truly exceptional. We need to up our game with quality trail experiences that can stand head to head with VT, Bentonville anywhere.
I'm sorry if I don't reply to each response, but feel free to email me directly at
tom@jorba.org or join a meet on the 15th and let me know your concerns.
