New Bike Porn: Niner Carbon Air 9

How durable is a carbon frame riding in the trails up north? After switching from an aluminum Gary Fisher road conversion to an actual carbon roadie, I'm amazed how much softer of a ride the carbon provides. I'd love to duplicate that feeling on the trails.

I think niners warranty is 2 years... that makes me a little nervous. Although everyone I spoke to who has dealt with a cracked niner frame had nothing but positive thigs to say

That is quite nice. Sure would fit Fogerson's suggestion that I should just go out and get it. And here I thought I was set on bikes for a while...

Walter, do you half-commit to joining every group ride and buying every new bike that hits the street? 😉 I'm sensing a pattern.

Yes, exactly. And as soon as there is a group ride for carbon fiber unicycles I'll be all over that too!

Maybe.😀

That's is sweet..

About a year ago Niner hired an ex/cervelo guy who is a composites engineer.

They have been hinting at this bike for some time.

I think this bike will bring Niner to the next level. I for one am excited to see how this bike rides. I can't help but think of the carbon Flash, but I will get a chance to ride them both and report.

I want that with a carbon lefty and some edge wheels....ohhhh man new favorite bike. Imagine a stable with that and a Mojo SL

That bottom bracket shell looked like there may be room for an EBB! You know what Im thinking!

I noticed that too. It is hard to tell if it is actually bigger or just a metal insert in the carbon.

The Air Nine is gears only so I expect this will be the same. 🙁
