I finally got me a pair of these damn things after having them on Item Watch at QBP since I sold Luke my Pug. It's the new lighter 180TPI tire from 45NRTH. The Escalator.

The tires are about 200 grams lighter then the 120TPI Ultralight Larrys, with having a more aggressive tread and optional studs.

I only have loops of the Scramble course on them at the moment but, yeah, they hook up significantly better than any of the fat tires I've ridden so far...

I'm glad when Jim gets new stuff........cause I end up with better stuff that he gets rid of......lol
 
Longer(ish) impression.

So I now have a few hundred miles on these things and I'll tell ya, they ROCK!! Super solid tire that seems to do everything well. I got to ride them a little yesterday in the snow and they were fine. I have the stud kit for them so I may install some just to see what it does...

Yes. The picture in the original post has them mounted to a Clown Shoe 😉

Impression #3. 5-Hours in the snow today. Grip was insane. Made every climb and tech section in Chimney Rock as if it were dry. Super impressed with this tire, and I've tried every fat bike tire on the market :getsome:
