I want the Cavs to win. I think for the NBA it would be best for GS to win though. As a 30 year follower of the NBA, it really irks me that people really believe that Steph is the MVP. He is a great face for their brand and possibly the best shooter to ever play but not an MVP. Truth be told Lebron is by far the best all around player on the planet.
Let's go Cavs!!!
totally agree on all points. Curry might very well be the
best shooter in the history of the game but he simply does not impact the game in ALL FACETS the way that LeBron does. I think a very simple way to think about this is to consider this.... when LeBron left the Cavs, they went from a 65+ win team (where LeBron dragged that not-very-talented- team to the NBA finals) to a sub-20 win team the very next season (a 40+ swing!). if you put
Curry on that Cavs team (instead of LeBron)
does Curry single-handedly bring that Cavs team to the finals? The obvious answer is...of course not. He just doesnt have that ALL AROUND impact that Lebron has on a team. Its not even close.
LeBron, IMHO, is deservedly in the discussion of "who is the best of all time?" along with the likes of Jordan, etc. Curry? great player for sure. but laughable to include him in
that discussion.
Curry should get the credit he deserves (as said probably best shooter ever and create shots that have rarely been seen in the history of the game). he is a decent defender but with his size he simply cant impact that side of the floor like LeBron can (who can arguably guard all 5 positions). dont know enough about Curry's passing skills but passing may just be LeBron's BEST attribute.
fwiw, I think people that put down the NBA dont really watch the game. I hear people say "its all one-on-one on offense" or " they dont play any defense" and I just think - what friggin' sport are you watching?! particularly during the playoffs. these guys play their asses off. there is great team offense and ridiculous effort on D. and it's being played by the best athletes on the planet.
...and I too am rooting for the Cavs
