MTBNJ Short Track Race #1

The term "Short Track" is sooooo appealing to a race car enthusiast like myself... If you are familiar with "Short track" racing, it usually refers to Saturday night dirt track racing.

if there is room for suggestion for future ST series, take a peek at Saturday night short track car racing. It runs through out the entire race car season and is very grass roots style racing and can be done at most local tracks.

That said, MTB Short track could be a full season thing at a number of local parks. Shit - night races with lights would be insane in the summer... That may not conflict with other big races and events because more (aside from Endurance style events) are in the mornings.

So much infrastructure. It's almost like a FT job doing something like this on a weekly basis at rotating parks.

If we lived in VT this would be more possible but with liability the way it is here, it's much harder. Not impossible just harder.
 
The intent of the short track series was to be a no frills, low budget event to get people out for some racing before the "real" racing season started. Keep it simple, fewer headaches, have some fun.

Exactly. This is the same mentality that concludes, "1 beer is good, 40 must be better, right?"
 
This is an honest question, will people be able to pre ride the day of or are you keeping the course in prime condition for the race itself
 
You can ride it now if you like, quite honestly I want you to ride it right now!
 
Got to say its sad only 9 fatbkikers registered. The ones reg will probably have close to the best races...
 
If you fall off course you will be close to knee deep, so wear a cup. Cleanest not fastest ride will win...

I didn't think that area got that much snow. Must have been that last storm that dumped more on Jersey than NY.
