Thanks again for all of you who came out to support our first XC race in well over a decade. It was a bittersweet moment for all of us who have been involved with the park for many years. We hope you all had a fantastic time.

Huge thanks to the Van Wart family, our MCBP crew and the many volunteers, without them none of this would have been possible.

Already dreaming up some changes for next year's race.

It was definitely a fun course. It was a good mix of tech and rock, climbing and downhill. Looking at the numbers, there wasn't too much climbing, but the climbs were steep, so they felt bigger then they were.

Nice video, I like how you took out most of the slow stuff! The mount on the frame by the headset is actually pretty good. It's lower than all the other locations so you get a better feel for the terrain and it leans when you lean the bike so you get better feel for the cornering speed. It is also not as jerky as the handle bar mount since it doesn't move every time you twist the bar a tiny bit.

Great video. I love that you included the part where they closed the bridge and made us use the rock crossing. I just wish you had included a high speed panic stop for the downed tree on the best downhill of the course.🙂

Great footage Tom - had no idea you were that close towards the end.
Onward to Tymor!!!

Thanks guys. I have video of the whole race, so I had to trim it down or else I'm sure it would bore people to tears. The faster stuff is a little more interesting visually.

I like this camera angle and mounting a lot. I just wish youtube wouldn't compress the heck out of the video, making it pixelated. I guess you can't complain too much about a service that lets you upload gigabytes of data and stream it to billions of people, all for free.

I'm not sure which downed tree your thinking about, but could it be the one that shows up about 08:40 in the video?
