Mountain Creek Pre-rides

Anyone looking to pre-ride the race course anytime other than the scheduled rides on Wednesday and Thursday, be on the lookout for these pink trail markings to help guide you along the way.

I'm still planning to be there today at 5:30. It's goi g to be very tight on time, but I should make it. Hopefully the last lift doesn't go off at 5:30 sharp!

I'll be there, make sure to go in and sign the waiver on the computer. Don't forgot to buy our ride leaders a drink after.

We were trying to make it but are actually still stuck in NYC traffic so we are going to bail 🙁 very very sad.

Can anyone compare this course to Bear Creek? Work and a Bottom Bracket kept me from going yesterday.

Pretty much as technical as Bear Creek (although with less large rocks), less climbing, no big long downhill, descents are less rocky - and it won't be as hot as the surface of the sun! 🙂

Course will start to be marked this afternoon, and finished up tomorrow - still plenty of time to pre-ride!

For anyone who isn't pre-registered and might be unfamiliar with the layout at Mountain Creek, you will park in the lot marked for the bike park. You MUST use the bridge to cross Rt. 94 - it causes lots of trouble for the park if you don't.

Also, please make sure you leave yourself plenty of extra time in the morning to get yourself, your water bottles and your family/friends who are spectating through registration (spectators w/o bikes ride for free!) and up the mountain. One of the coolest aspects of this venue is the mountainside location, but it does take a little extra planning time to get yourself set to race.

Course is more than 80% marked, now, will be done shortly, for anyone looking to pre-ride!

Agreed.. The course was fun and technical, similar to the waywayanda course. There were a few interesting crashes since the downhills were pretty quick. The venue is also great. It's not typical that you have access to clean bathrooms and an outside bar after a race. Here are a few photos I took on the way up the lift.

That was a great race. The course was a fresh challenge and flow was really fun. Mountain Creek's registration, spectator lift, and amenities were all handled smoothly and enjoyable. We'll be back there for XC riding this fall.
The course design by Team Town Cycle was superb as well as the last minute improvements. And the mechanical support from Team Jersey Home Grown bailed out several riders in real-time. I also found this a spectator-friendly layout the way they could back-track the course exit and watch some sweet singletrack sections just a few feet from the start/finish line.

all around great job. venue, course, marshalling, and organization were top notch. kudos and accolades to mtn.creek and towne cycle. thank you for all the hard that was put in, it's very appreciated.

Yes, great race as mentioned. I really enjoyed riding the course and hanging on the patio afterwards! 🙂

It was definitely a fun course. It was a good mix of tech and rock, climbing and downhill. Looking at the numbers, there wasn't too much climbing, but the climbs were steep, so they felt bigger then they were.
