Moon Shadows are Evil

I think I just had a STB222 on bike sighting on my way back from the gym on Princeton Pike...

Kevin were you wearing a purple shirt hauling ass over the 295 / 95 overpass going toward Franklin Corner Rd around 1pm today?

yes, franklin corner was closed so i had to double back to princeton pike.

Bigger tires is and will be the future and thanks to the fatbike movement it will trickle down. Bigger tires dose not just mean fatter but volume in size. That is the key larger volume lower pressure more contact patch. From DH to trail riding you will continue to see this direction.

Yes, i know about bigger tires, but what is the point of diminish returns?
How are you 167 man? I'm like 155. You must be solid muscle!

Haha, IDK, guess that what medium build is.

Hopefully I will be able to pick that up from you when you're ready to sell it... I'm like macklemore thrift shop. I'll rock a fur and ride a baby blue scooter.

Haha, once rapha's discontinues this color, I can sell it on ebay for what I paid for it, so don't hold your breath.

I am weird and desperately need to be different hence the Misfit SS purchase.

I don't have anything against fat bikes, I just think its odd that people need to get the next new/trendy bike to get pumped up about cycling. I would not say you're weird Matty, Fat bikes are very popular now. Fat bikes were weird 5 yrs. ago when Vreeland got into them.

FAT BIKES ARE KEWL!

For me, fat bikes - whenever I see one, I get a spontaneous urge to yell "FAT BIKE" at the guy riding it and I usually do. I've done it every time I see someone riding it. I think they are cool as hell and I want one. Its like the Monster truck of cycling. Its like owning a lifted pickup truck or jeep.

Its just flat out cool! For me it falls in the same coolness category as a Full Down Hill rig. That's like a motocross bike without a motor.

I don't need to over analyze it - From the time I set eyes on one to now, I still like the looks of them and I give a little more respect to those who own them and ride them. Maybe next year, I'll pick one up.

No I am weird because I won't ride big box brand bikes. It goes back to Cdale asshole I used to ride with in early 90's. I abandoned Santa Cruz after my first gen Nomad as they became arrogant. I was a big SC fanboy from the first tazmon I owned. That's weird.

How's telemark skiing been for you. What if they made a new trendy tele ski would get you pumped.

Am I the only one that thinks "bike with wheelbarrow wheels" when I see fatbikes? Pushing around a wheelbarrow sucks, I can't see pedaling one being any better.

Ummm, aren't you buying a fatBoy?

I get the small company thing, I have one of those freak bikes in an EWR (when I used to ride mtb's). It is very easy to get caught up in having the latest and greatest and I was in the loop for a long time. i got to the point where it didn't make sense to upgrade anymore because the next level up was major $$$ with minimal gains, I think carbon clinchers on road bikes was the breaking point for me. Case in point, my frames have been the same for a few years now. Sure I still pick up random parts but few and far between. That being said i am lusting over the gray/black ultegra 6800 cranks. Damnit for going in Halters yesterday.

So I switched from buying parts to clothing, enter my Rapha fetish. And after 2 years, i am more just down to accessories there as I have most of the "core" pieces I want (however i am still kicking myself for not picking up the pro team jacket when it was 50% off).

Anyways, now that I have largely removed myself from the game, it just seems silly at times. 11spd pissed me off because it is simply to make you buy new parts. OK, on the mtb you have a better gear range but really, how much different? I have been 1 x forever now so that current trend is lost on me. I try not to say much because real life people I know are affected but not buying into the new trends. But it is all part of the bike industry machine. That being said, I will probably have 11spd at some point,

My stable:
Road-Seven Resolute
X/C SS-Misfit
Downhill - morewood izimu
BMX Cruiser- Hyper
Fatbike-???
I did commute on '97 jamis 853 steel ghetto SS that I stripped and rattle canned so no badging anywhere. Which reminds me to give that to Woody.

Maybe you should make your own bike out of clay?

Do you drive homemade cars?

Not hating on fatbikes, all are entitled to enjoy what they ride... but I have thought this same exact thing - HA!

Hey Kevin, how'd I do on Twitter today?

They make trendy tele ski equipment every year, its ridiculous how much more expensive this stuff is then conventional alpine skiing. I've dropped out of tele skiing because I'd rather xc ski. I find it to be more organic/natural + it compliments my cycling fitness.(also i'm not a kid anymore and don't need to go super fast downhill on skis) XC Is way more affordable as well, bonus is when we get a lot of snow like last year and I can explore on skis out the back door.

IMO it doesn't matter what kinda bike you ride or what skis you are using, getting our and doing is where its at.
