Mohican 100

I think I'm going to do it on my road bike, and take a DNF as soon as I get to the woods just so I can get the preem,

The first racer to reach the city limits of Loudonville after the race start will receive a $200 reward courtesy of the Loudonville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Kim's Bikes of Loudonville.

Figure $110 to register, $60 for gas to get there, so I'll make $30 off the deal plus the pride of being able to say I beat the pros at something 😀 😛

Ryan, are you my stalker or something? I'll be registering before the Feb 2nd price hike...

Unless your road bike is a GSX 1000 my money is on the pro's. They get very focused when it comes to a pay check. It would be very entertaining to see them chase your ass up the road.

Nope I'm no stalker. I've just seen posts before saying that you were officially in for a race only to back out later 😀 I'm helping to "motivate" 🙂

After seeing how quickly they shot off up that hill last year, I'd maybe go for the Hayabusa Turbo.

Yea they were gone. I think that's a key to that race - you need to hit that hill pretty hard to avoid the menacing bottleneck into the ST. I got in a pretty good position last year but I'm going to try and one up that this year. I want to be in contact with the fast guys getting into the woods.

So I decided to enter Mohican to get in my 4 NUE races again. Then the Lumberjack 100 sells out today before I can get to register at lunchtime....aaarrrrghhhhh

I only wanted to do the Mohican to be a 4th race in the NUE. Did anyone miss out on the cheap price who would like to purchase my entry? I'm going to refocus my plans for the year.

Do you think the Mohican will sell out as well?, and if so when does that usually happen by? It is on my radar to do as my single long event of the year but I have to get past an injury before I can commit. If all happens as I hope I could take that from you but I may not know for another month.

After seeing the LJ100 sell out in 12 hours where last year it took 3 weeks I wouldn't like to say. The price slowly goes up for buying entry as the race draws closer, if I'm dropping the race I'll just want my entry fee back. So even if it's not going to sell out, my entry will be a cheaper option for someone.

As soon as I am in a position to commit I will be in touch.

I was amazed at how fast it filled up. I wouldn't be suprised to see other NUE racessell out earlier this year than in the past. It seems as though the 24 hr thing has given way to the ultra endurance events. You should still race Mohican and go for a PR.

wow - how long does something like this take to finish? and how do you even prepare for it? =P

if i get say 15 miles out of a 6mr loop, in 2 hours... that's 7.5mph
100 / 7.5 = 13 hours? 14 hours?

so start in the morning , 7am and ride til 8 or 9pm at night... wow.
