Or a tunnel like what was completed in DE for a road crossing in Middle Run/ White Clay trail system.
But this is NJ, so there's that.
$0, the $50,000 feasibility assessment would deem it cost prohibitive.

If you think a pedestrian bridge is going to be expensive, I can’t imagine what a tunnel there would cost. Between excavating, closing the road, environmental studies because wetlands, & the lawyers.

A tunnel is probably not feasible there.
1) It would be flooded all the time.
2) It would require massive road work, something only going to happen when the road is replaced and that recently happened.
3) There's likely existing utilities/storm-drain piping in that road.

100% not feasible. But it would give @Patrick something else to clean out twice a year.

For those saying it would still flood. The spot at MR/WC has 3 options. Cross the road. Use the old stream tunnel. After @stb222's effort for improvement to signage on the road, they also added strange crosswalk markings.
Just some while rectangles, no edge or hash marks. I've seen this in other places - does it have a different connotation?

I think they might have to have a blinking light thing also for the crosswalk. Maybe that's why they didn't put any blinking things up. I myself would not at all believe they be stopping on that road.
I think it the same meaning as all the different types of crosswalks, don't run over the things in them.
The parks stance on those trail signs was interesting at first because they basically said it isn't our problem. We all know if there was a vehicle/ped accident there that all parties, including the park, would be sued so im guessing they came to their senses.
