My last ride there was on 8/2. Started from the park and ride. Sunset / MFTW was in great shape.Any word on the conditions at Mahlon?
Apologies if the locations are a little vague. First two photos above are the one on more fun this way and the rest are all pretty close to one another on black magic. It's been a while since I've been on Black Magic. I hit it today and it has multiple trees down. If anyone is out with a chainsaw and in the area LOL.
There is one also down on "more fun this way" been there for a bit. It's disruptive 🤷♂️ I got one of those nifty rope chainsaws that I can give a try at some of these but a chainsaw is way more effective!
ghost too. took care of a bunch of what i could but it was a mess, like a tornado came throughloads of large trees down on purple, white, red, blue crescent, the blue DH segment from the high point to green, arapho, etc. was bad before the storm, now really bad. cleared a ton of sticks, small trees off purple and white and did some small hand saw cutting but chainsawing needed.
Normally I do not ask for help while cutting, but If we can plan a day to go work on some hard hit, well-ridden trails, I’ll come out with the saw (or two) and have you help haul the gear and be the swamper. I’ve just been overworked lately with trail stuff and now that it’s frigid, additional clothing layers are weighing me down even more.loads of large trees down on purple, white, red, blue crescent, the blue DH segment from the high point to green, arapho, etc. was bad before the storm, now really bad. cleared a ton of sticks, small trees off purple and white and did some small hand saw cutting but chainsawing needed.
schedule is all over the map, cut what you can of the big stuff, I'll clear it as I see it and as I've already been doing. if it's too much for you let me know I'll cut it myself one night when I'm free.Normally I do not ask for help while cutting, but If we can plan a day to go work on some hard hit, well-ridden trails, I’ll come out with the saw (or two) and have you help haul the gear and be the swamper.
