24-25mph @ just over 100 bpm heart rate?

(from pearl's live data link)

I am a cavendish fan too. He is entertaining with the cockiness and the crying on the podium and stuff link that. He is also retard fast and no one can match him in a straight up sprint. The win the other day he sprinted around 9 other guys. I also like that he beats that DB farrar. What a horrible representation of American that f-head is.

Wow, I think I have to become a Farrar fan based on you two not liking him.

how does that not suprise me? Are you my new Kush?

how could you not like an american?

not sure if that was for me, but I just said he is a horrible representation. He falls right into some kind of surfer boy sterotype and I hate that stupid tatoo on his arm. And good point ductin, dude doesn't open his mouth when he talks.

I don't know, I just don't like the way he looks or talks. I really don't have a good reason, I just got a bad impression of him in some highlight clip that versus did.

And no Kevin, I could never be your Kush. Those feelings run way too deep. 😉 I'm just setting up a little good natured trash talking for the next couple weeks. I know for a fact Dustin can take it. Football has desensitized us both...

just in general. have this argument all the time. you'd rather root for some euro guy over a dude that represents your country?

Why don't you ask the people over in the political threads that same question. It's ok to not like people that represent your country.

I think yesterday was about the only time I hae ever actually watched the TDF for more than 30 seconds. After doing a few crit races, it makes alot more sence to me now than it did last year. I noticed that after contador switched bikes at the end that he is allowed to draft cars to get back to the peleton? Well not sure if he is allowed, but he was anyway. I thought it was kinda crazy how the camera motorcycle was blazing though the crowd trying to get up to him, looks pretty dangerous.

I didnt watch every minute of stage yesterday, but at times I heard them say that the peleton was averaging 30mph or more...so 24-25 mph was probably a lull.

OK, just making sure, I wasn't really feeling that way. Unless you are russian....

You must have really hated cavendish before he got his teeth fixed last year. He is a good interview too because he says a bunch of dumb stuff to make fun of.

but this isn't a race of country against country, it is team to team / individual to individual. Sure, it is nice to root for the home team and I would really like to see Chris Horner in the top 3 this year, but most of the other american riders are just blah to watch. Levi is a good example, dude is just boring. Rides wheels and really never attacks. Boring.

The intermediate sprint Cavendish won yesterady was stupid impressive. It was a perfect lead-out and execution. I'm abivalent on him. Easy to listen to but also the whiny bitch stuff is annoying. As an American, all Brits are easy to love/hate. I just wish someone would tell us where he's from, like if he was born on an island or something, because you know, I really have no idea.

Horner is my favorite.

The guy driving the motorcycle got a raw deal. If you watch the video he was about 3 inches from the dirt. The riders act like fucking retards then some guy loses his job because of it?

Personally IDGAF where someone is from. I was a Thor fan, a little bit, but I'm having dreams of Phil Liggett over-pronouncing his name, so now I really can't wait for him to lose yellow. I'm pulling for Garmin-Cervello even though the team manager is surely a metrosexual, Subaru-driving, Apple-product flunky who likes to hear himself talk far too much.

Cadel Evans looks like Frankenstein, less about 100 pounds.

I try to like Farrar but Kev is right on this one IMO. Dude has stupid awesome form though. How you can be out of the saddle and still keep the bike that steady is really impressive.

Is it me or this tour basically Shleck's to lose at this point?

Bummed about Levi yesterday.

Intermediate sprint is like 30k before the finish today. I'll pick Rojas or Gilbert for the first and then Farrar in the final, with Cavendish 2nd and Rojas 3rd. Sure it's where Cav won his first stage but that kind of stuff just boils the blood of people like Farrar. Plus, the Garmin team is supposed to be made for flat stages, and this is as flat as it gets. On top of that, everyone expects tomorrow to be the end of Thor's days in yellow so figure the team wants to represent hard before that happens.

I know nothing though. So my opinion is useless.

One of the funnier moments so far was the introduction when Thor Hushovd came out with the hammer and the rest of his team was bowing. Trying to find a photo of it.

Anybody have a working link to watch live? The one I was using is shot... something about copyright infringement

I don't see anything "surf-ish" about him. And if you hate tattoos check out this guy!

Contador is only a min 30 down, which is nothing in the mountain. However, contador has had bad luck and has had to ride hardder to catch the peleton on a few occasions, so hopefully that hurts him. Schleck and Horner are the only GC contenders that can stick with Contador when he attacks, so if Schleck can stay with him and even gain time in the mountains, he should be good. Contador is a stupid good climber and so explosive that he could still be up there and I have a feeling he may be the first on to do the Giro / TDF double in like 30 something years.

Anyways, today's sprint should be good. Garmin's lead out is better than HTC's this year, especially with big riders like Thor, who is also in yellow, so they have an advantage there. However, as we saw a few times last year and two days ago, Cavendish is excellent at following wheels and doesn't need his train to win.
