How big is Sherburne? I camped near those trails last year but it looked small compared to GMT and Millstone.
I assume you hit the trails behind Base Camp Outfitters. Great trails eventually connecting to Sherburne Trails. Also across rt.100 in Gifford Woods is another fairly new trail Pesky Cairn just under 4 miles. The Killington area gets it. They are building new trails lately every few months. A lot of fun trails. Did you notice those insane drops/sends on the Connecter Trail ? Insane !I did 3 rides there this past week, totalling about 3.5 hours. I did maybe 15 minutes of it twice on separate days, that you'd skip if you looped it all together. And there is a green playground-like region where we hit stuff back & forth for a while. But I am thinking easily 2+ hours in a single ride when you put it all together.
The interesting thing here is that half is buffed, machine-built trail and half is downhome, old school, Vermont XC riding.
If you camp there it is a no-brainer. We are staying in Killington and I didn't bother driving to GMT. I've been there before and these were worth staying local for those rides. But I was also riding early before the family was up, so I was a bit time limited.
Thx. I will hit these up hopefully this season. Planning to van camp when I can go when the COVID19 numbers are favorable. Enjoy! Take care!!I did 3 rides there this past week, totalling about 3.5 hours. I did maybe 15 minutes of it twice on separate days, that you'd skip if you looped it all together. Stowe has the same feel of half machine buff trail and half VT roots/rocks/reggae. I really like the mix.I assume you hit the trails behind Base Camp Outfitters. If you get a chance and are looking for some grubb with nice views/outside dining visit Clear River Tavern in Pittsfield. Tell Doug or Buffy , Eric sent you. Be warned you may yearn to hit the Green Mountain Trails since you will be right in the center of GMT. Enjoy the rest of your time.Yeah been to Pine Hill a few times before and Green Mountain maybe 2 years ago.
This trip I’m going to end up doing 3 different tours of Sherbourne plus 2 full days at the bike park plus 1 day where I rode up & down the hill at the bike park before they opened.
Never been to Millstone but have heard good things.

I did a half day at Killington bike park back in June and was really impressed by the whole operation. There was just one lift spinning then but there were a few really fun trails to take. I definitely want to go back.
Kidzach - Great to hear that Killington is building new trails. I've forever been very partial to Stowe and looked down at K-town based on a few times snowboarding at Killington in the 90's/00's. But visiting Killington in the warmer months I was blown away with how nice it is. And with how big Stowe has gotten during the winter I wonder if the tables have turned.
I will have to check those trails out, I've never ridden there. I did ride on the other side of GMT, many years ago, there were norba signs on the trail, I have always wondered if the were still open/maintained? That clear river tavern is definitely a cool spot.Sherbourne is what you talked about camping. It’s the XC trails closest to Killington.
Flo in Stowe is just about as good as any flow trail at a bike park. There is some good old-school stuff in Cady Hill that's not on the map. They also built some flowy stuff at Adams Camp, but I prefer Kimmers, then going to the very top, and dropping all the way down to the High School. I just found some more off the map stuff behind Cady Hill that I'm about to go explore and get lost following. There's also a lot of "unsanctioned" stuff around, that some of the locals kindly request that you turn the Strava off for. There's apparently been a lot of building going down.
Killington always had their shit together, good mix of flow and old-school also. I like Yo Vinnie and that type of terrain off of Rams Head.
Clear River does have indoor dining. But with covid I prefer outside these days. They have a lot of tables set up outside.I will have to check those trails out, I've never ridden there. Is there indoor dining up there?

We did Saturday and today there. In all I rode just over 85 miles. They have 3 lifts open Fri-Sun and 2 open the other 2 days. The shit there is dialed in. There is a top to bottom run that is like melted butter pouring down the mountain. Just fantastic all around.
You can take the gondola all the way to the top and get something along the lines of 2200 feet of descent in 1 go. They even work on the trails up top, as opposed to Burke which is more raw/freeride up there.
@kidzach - yup, hit almost everything.
According to the site, you can quarantine in NJ. If you live in Hunterdon right now you don't. You can do the quarantine at home.@Norm
I was checking out the killington website. Are you supposed to quarantine in VT for a week? Or can you just be quarantined in NJ, before your trip?
You can do the quarantine at home.
Well shit you convinced me. I'm heading up there this weekend. 2 days at Killington or 1 and 1 Killington/Sherburne?

Is anyone enforcing said quarantines?Hunterdon does not need to quarantine at all. Several weeks ago it was a lot of counties, including mine. Now it is a home self-quarantine for where I live. Vermont updates the map every Friday.
