Hi all...was recently made aware of this forum by rng1, whom I met on the road in Nyack (where he was awaiting the infamous "Rocket Ride").
Was really big into mtn biking in the early-mid 90s, doing a couple of NORBA Sport-class races and having fun at South Mountain Reservation before they banned mountain bikes. My first mountain bike was a Bridgestone MB-4, and I generally lived by the principles expressed in the awesome Bridgestone bike catalogs from that era. Eventually went "upscale", getting a Fat Chance Yo Eddy (from the last batch built in Somerville, MA, before they moved to the Serotta facility in NY State)...and still ride this bike today. I live in Bergen County now, but grew up in Princeton, so I have also spent a lot of time riding Mercer County Park. Also spent a lot of time riding Killington back in the day...still have a Killington lift-sticker on my brake cable from 12 years ago...!
Am admittedly more of a road weenie these days...age and family commitments will do that to you sometimes!...but have made it out to the trails a couple of times in the last few months and am hoping to do more....
