hmm i wonder if someone can modify / reweld my rear triangle on my retrotec .. i think i just need clearance on my chainstays

So it's been a while since an update but I got some pictures of progress, I'm at about 60% at the moment, triangle is back together

and all is looking good...
Biggest hurdle was aligning the rear wheel to be perfectly in line with the frame which I have gotten over by use of small wooden block spacers in a clamp jig and a laser. Wrapped the seat stays in carbon last night, tonight I will be wrapping the chain stays, if @jumpa sticks around after our pump track session at jungle maybe he'll take a short video of the carbon lay up for any and all with interest of seeing my process.

this is turning out better than expected.
this reminds me of the time I had to clearance my rear trailing arms so I could fit 8" rims on my galant without running some kind of wheel spares like a ricer @dillonVW
;)

World belongs to the brave :) sometimes you just have to think outside the box

Looks awesome.

Want to try taking an inch out of the rear triangle of my 29er hardtail? :)

My biggest complaint about my 29er is the fact that it doesn't turn. Long chainstays, no sliding dropout.

I'd like to see more pics of how you rejoined the stays... layers inside, outside, how/what you used to fill the tube interior, etc.

Unfortunately i didn't take many pics of the splints them selves, I shaped blue Styrofoam to the inner dimensions of the tubes, wrapped them in unidirectional carbon fiber then I epoxied the splints into the tubes using "loctite hysol" adhesive epoxy with chopped up strands of carbon fiber to fill any voids after that cured I wrapped the outside of the tubes with more unidirectional CF running in different directions with each layer, sanded smooth and repeat the process 2 more times to get to the finished product.

I am beyond impressed with this project. So psyched to see the final result!
