how come no one carries water bottles while racing? the course is short, crazy & fast?
what happened to jdog, ran out of oxygen.

CX Races often require you to shoulder the bike. The bottle/cage is in the way. I'm seeing more guys put a bottle in their pocket. At some point they take a swig to keep their mouth wet and then toss the bottle. These races are so short that hydration is done beforehand. You are just battling the cotton mouth towards the end.

Jdog couldn't handle the fast pace so he ripped his derailleur from his frame and walked the rest.

Is this true J,? The new carbon fiber C-dale?
 
it looks like the new cdale.
definitely brought the festive mood of the video down when j was walking away from the course with bike slung over shoulder.

Just saw the video on facebook, that really sucks...
Did it just snap or was there a mixing of two bikes?

Until this season, UCI rules forbade feeding during CX races.

And you'll often hear racers say things like, "If you have time to drink, you're not going hard enough!"🙄 Hence the mindset, among some purists, that even having bottle bosses on a cross frame is sacrilege.

I saw this on someones bike at HPCX. Seems like a good idea for warming up and having access to the bottle rather than in your jersey pocket.
