Thanks another vote for wyze.I have several Wyze cameras, prolly posted before, but have since upgraded. I have (2) of the newer pan cams covering the driveway. Its nice as you can set up waypoints to cover multiple angles and overlap and since they move when they detect something the cameras follow it. The down is that sometimes they drift out of position, but its easy to reset when they do. The Flood light cam works great, I have it set up to cover the back yard.
Clear enough in both Day and Night Mode. All my exterior cameras are mounted up high (10ft +/- or more). Wet conditions tend to bleed/oversaturate camera a bit from the reflection at night. If there's a motion activated light adjacent it switches to color almost immediately following the light turning. Thanks another vote for wyze.
How the video quality in general and at night ?
nice backyard deck!
Thanks! Wish the weather was better or I would have been out there drinking beer!nice backyard deck!
Have you looked into the local storage with blink? You can plug a 256gb USB stick into the hub. I ordered a camera bundle from Costco at a great price and am hoping to try this out.Eufy also looks good, and local storage appeals to me. But to switch, I have to replace all my cameras which would equate to 8 years of Blink service (incl. 3 new Blink cameras).
Crazy, but no, I have not tried the local USB storage. Looking for a USB stick now…Have you looked into the local storage with blink? You can plug a 256gb USB stick into the hub. I ordered a camera bundle from Costco at a great price and am hoping to try this out.
We have a bunch of ring cameras with the grandfathered $100/year price, but that'll double in 2025.
Paid $50 for the Costco bundle with 3 blink cameras and a hub. I'm going to set it up without a subscription and use the local storage. If it works as well as the ring stuff I'll probably slowly switch it all over to blink.
I dont think you need to necessarily hard wire anything, but if you use battery cameras and wifi you would certainly need to recharge them periodically. My current ones last about 3 weeks or so and then I have to grab a step ladder to take them down and charge the batteries. If I was keeping this setup long term for certain i would get extra batteries and a charger.Do not have tools or know how (also terrified of anything with electric)
@Ashcor maybeResurrecting the thread. Is Wyze still the best way to go?
Also, do we have anyone on the forum who can install the cameras? Do not have tools or know how (also terrified of anything with electric).
Want to install cameras on the outside to cover all sides with motion detection light.

whats a fax-cat video? afaf
Unfortunately, no chance of running network cable. If you can run Cat6 around, then you could go the NVR route with PoE cameras. Mine holds about 90 days and overwrites as it goes. 12Tbs and 8 cameras in HD and night vision. Otherwise you need to pay for subscriptions with most of the WiFi type cameras for recordings, or get a camera with a USB or SD card slot for recordings. The downside being they either still need a power source or are battery powered.
