These theft rings are clearly planned around what areas they will hit. 2 more reports posted on the community forums in response to the other ones. One of them is one block over.crime of opportunity. maybe walking up a driveway vs on street?
car that doesn't require a jack?
doesn't require a sawzall?
i'm trying to figure out how to electrocute a thief w/o whacking myself!
I did see one news video the owner came out with a paint gun and rapid fired on the two guys while they were under the car and scored major ball shots. That seems dangerous like who knows if the guy stealing had a real gun. But it was pleasant to watch them try to run away which literal Paint Blue Balls.
@iman29 you gotta do what you gotta do BUT be aware that parking over the sidewalk is illegal. N.J.S. 39:4-138. You might have a neighborhood Karen complain about that.
For the record it does fit. Ask me how I knowJust have to do an Austin Powers style 100 point turn and get that third car perpendicular.
Seems like a neat idea, but just go beyond the tape and you defeat the security. These are interesting looking products
I wonder if just grabbing the strap will defeat the "difficult to cut" aspect?

OK waking up this thread because after the last round of vandalism to the house, Mrs. iman29 has decided we need to upgrade our home security/camera setup as this years Xmas gift to ourselves.
Since Ring is the most popular one she's heard of she wants me to replace the meh Arlo setup we have with a Ring doorbell (we currently dont even have a doorbell) and floodlight/Ring cams for the front driveway & garage and the back of the house.
As a refresher, I have 2 Arlo Pro cams and the free service (no subscription). There is a significant delay on these cams usually I get people leaving and not arriving if they are fast enough (like teenagers running to and from my porch). The nighttime quality is grainy at best.
I scrolled through this thread over lunch and noted the Wyze camera setup might be a decent option and less expensive, but not sure the quality.
Thanks for the feedback - hoping to take advantage of the holiday cyber sales and get some good value for the money.
You won't be disappointed with Wyze. Very good quality.OK waking up this thread because after the last round of vandalism to the house, Mrs. iman29 has decided we need to upgrade our home security/camera setup as this years Xmas gift to ourselves.

Shelby did great barking at the idiot teenagers who vandalized my house, but her internal DVR was full so she didnt get any video 😛I just use my dog.
thanks this comparison helps a lot along with comparing Ring cameras and services.Iman29 - post up your final decision.
We are using Amazon Blink cameras on three properties. All cameras except one are grandfathered from Blink's fee-free service. When we move I will expand our system and incur fees on the new devices (Blink $100/year, unlimited devices).
Wyze looks good, but doesn't offer anything above Blink. For me, it actually costs more for the same service plus having to buy all new cameras.
Eufy also looks good, and local storage appeals to me. But to switch, I have to replace all my cameras which would equate to 8 years of Blink service (incl. 3 new Blink cameras).
