This is some good advice. Taxes are the demon and they have a huge impact on your monthly since you have the privilege of paying them every year 🙄 Good thing we have trustworthy politicians who spend the money appropriately.
 
OTOH taxes are going to be bad anywhere you land. You may get lucky with an old assessment. But that's a short-term luxury.
 
suck it up Blairstown! Become the hillbilly you always dreamed of. Moocho land lowest taxes in the state and 83,000 acres of federal land out your back door! 😀 What do you get NOTHING! What do you have EVERYTHING!
 
This house doesn't exist Luke. You're going to have to suck it up and compromise on at least one of your requirements.
 
:duh: compromise. No matter where you choose, sounds like your commute to sites is a bitch. This whole work thing cramps errrbody's style.

I'm much happier knowing I love the place we chose but I will be paying a premium. I just have to live even more frugal than I already do, if that is possible...

Mine actually went down a few years ago when re-assessments were done. This tells me that up until that point, I was paying more than I should've been (relative to everybody else...in general of course I was paying more than I should've been...it is NJ!)

But not to worry...in true NJ fashion they've climbed back up to where they were...
