help from Porsche enthusiasts

Do you want a Porsche just to have a Porsche, or do you want a nice Porsche? Because that this is ugly if you just want a Porsche.

Not for the first rodeo, want something newer.
No one knows when the old IMS were phased out?

I think the IMS was phased out with the second generation of the 997. The first gen 997 used the same motor (its in the article that you sited). I'm told by that if you want a water cooled 911, get 2009 or newer. That way you avoid some cylinder scoring issues that popped up on some older cars. Also, if you go the Cayman route, 2014 or newer, thats when they changed the styling and also upped the power. The dirty little secret is that the Cayman out-handles the 911, the 911 has more power. Although, the new 718 Cayman that everyone laments, with PDK, is faster than a Carrera S, and faster than any pervious generation 911, with the exception of GT2, 3 and Turbo.

haven't really considered a Cayman, cause I could not get over old uglynish.
this looks so much better

I hear the 2016s had PDK, what about 2015?

What happened here? It's been like a quarter since thread started 😛

Go and drive one, even a regular S-model, and your conversion to the dark side will be complete. You'll then spend most of your time trolling Autotrader and Cars looking for the deal.
too late to the later

I would get a 2009 911 S. Basic and simple, rear seats in a pinch, tranny (tough.. pdk/manual), drive 3 of 7 days, high mileag okay? But unfortunately will have to sit outside.

Where is the reasonable bottom price?
