Hartshorne/Huber Conditions

Hartshorne was great today. Just 2 little wet spots. However, the laurel ridge trail is getting overgrown. Lots of people out today.

Yeah, the overgrowth is starting to get bad already. Fortunately, there's a TM day scheduled for June 20. I'm planning to go and whack some weeds.

Rode Hartshorne Sunday am and conditions were perfect. Not too crowded, just a few other Mtn Bikers. Wanted to check out Huber, but missed the right turn on Laurel Ridge trail (coming from the lower lot).
Perfect time for that trail maintenance, trails getting over grown in plenty of spots.

From another Marc, almost 3 hours Hart/Huber yesterday afternoon and great conditions. Was really surprised how dry it was considering the weather last couple weeks. Not sure if rain this morning messed it up too much though.

from what I could tell it didnt rain too hard overnight and today is just a drizzle. so, if the trails were good yesterday morning I see no reason why they would be worse now.

should probably stay off today but would be surprised if there is an issue tomorrow (particularly PM)

Rode Hartshorne Saturday morning- very busy trails, bikers, hikers, runners, and trail crew. Everyone was respectful and friendly; thanks to the trail crew for their good work!
Conditions were ok; rated it a 2. Ridable but soggy in spots. Would not ride today with the over night rain, and will need a few dry days to recover.

Rode Hartshorne and Huber Saturday morning and afternoon as well. The surface was somewhat moist in the late morning, which isn't necessarily a bad thing with sand, but that made the roots and rocks slippery (my bald rear tire also has something to do with that 🙂). A shower passed through around 12:45, which didn't affect the trail surface too much, but really made the roots/rocks/logs extra slippery.

There's a huge tree down on Rocky Point trail @ N 40° 23.155′, W 73° 59.474′

There wasn't too much rain in the area overnight and the sun is out now, so I don't think it will really take that long to dry out.

Conditions were great at Hartshorne and Huber today. Trails were dry, and the rain held off until about 3. It was a little drippy at times before that, but not nearly enough to spoil the fun. I hope folks got out there today, since it looks like we're going to get a soaking tonight.

Went yesterday (monday) Awesome conditions. Its like the rain never even touched it. There are 2 wet spots total but they seem to have been there for over a week. I am not very familiar with the name of the trails so I can't point out which. 4 out of 4

Saw one big one on the right side of the navensink parking lot. Someone ran it over. : ( luckily it wasn't me!

Don't know if this got cleared out yet, but when I was at Huber the other day, there was a big honking tree across the trail on the east side of Fox Hollow, coming from Valley View/Claypit (like, maybe 400 feet from the trailhead) with what looks like a re-route. It's not...you'll wind up coming out at a farm on River Road.

I am ever reminded that Browns Dock road sucks, every time I find myself having to go up it.

Trails are in great shape! Few mud puddles drying out, easily avoidable. Trails are tacky and fast! Have at it!
