Hartshorne group ride...any interest?

Yeah buddy, refraining from riding when it's wet is a real thing. I practice this philosophy myself. There IS an ongoing trail maintenance program. It's all volunteers and is sponsored by the park system. I've attended a handful of the sessions over the last 2 years after a 20-year lapse. Back in the day, the volunteer group was 90% mountain bikers. Now it's maybe 20%. To sign up, contact Melissa Bezahler at melissa.bezahler@monmouthcountyparks.com.

What gets me is i am getting a little speed so i csn climb a hill and a hiker coming down has both hands on air in center of trail trying to block me and yelling i am going to fast. How else do i mske yhe climb on an ss? Or all the horse crap in middle of trsil at huber. How about the walkers and runners I need to elbow in the middle of a climb because me yelling as loud as i can politely doesn't get me heard over their too loud Beats headphones. Btw, unless by accident i am always courteous on the trail.

So, if i do this...great, all for it, but if more is needed and they don't allow time then just don't do it? And no to the other guy, i am not stepping away. I may unintentionally hurt feelings but i'd ultimately like to help...and @Mitch thx for sticking up. I ramble sometimes(all the time?) but do mean well. I guess i grew up tiding non mtb parks in the bedminster area the last 30 years and never heard a rain riding complaint, i must be naive.

Yeah, it sucks but, you have to yield. It is the law in the park. These are multi-use parks and we are low man on the totem pole. Going vigilante will just create a greater case for bikes to be eliminated from the park, so while you may mean well, the behavior can hinder the cause.

Don't hinder the cause Dave, and from what you are saying, you're "that guy". Don't be "that guy" Dave.

Dave - I was joking. "step away from the keyboard" - it was a joke. suggesting, on a public message board that we do rogue trail maintenance (after the other posts), well, I thought the joke was warranted. I certainly did not mean, in any way, that you should stop participating on mtbnj.com. hope to see you on the trails. peace.
