Halters / JORBA Membership Drive!

Well in truth, that's 2 of them, but yeah, he's a tiny dog.

Trail runners greatly benefit from Jorba's work and there is little visibility/exposure of it in that community.

It just hit me that all the guys I used to regularly race with had never heard of it. I'll post to the local running forums - hoping this will drive more members (albeit they'll most likely be in short shorts and emaciated).

Maybe mtbnj should add an option in a members profile to manually input their JORBA member # and that will automatically grant a ribbon to the avatar... I'm sure all members wouldn't have a problem taking a few seconds to update their profile.

I like it.

@gtluke @soundz
How hard is it to identify who is and who isn't a member on this site. An awesome ID on avatar or highlight on user name would catch a couple dozen more. I know this is a repeat but get off the cliff and get it done 🙂

This is a current JORBA/MTBNJ initiative but we have to ensure pii is secure and that we aren't publicly guilting non-members.

In other words, @soundz has the juice to implement this and will do it when taco payments are sufficient. #Wtbmoartacos

i love taco
Frank this is great news!! But I am still baffled that with over 4400 registered users on this site that only 10% of them have taken action to join JORBA. 😕
I think about this all the time.

I have been out doing trail work a lot lately and people stop and thank me often.

My response is always the same. "If you like these trails, please join JORBA."

How often do you think they actually do??

All I can offer is that membership is vital for the future of the trails in NJ. W/O JORBA, you can be certain that there would be less legal places to ride in this state. Period.

If this means nothing to you, fine. But for those in the know, you need to step up.

We need 500+ members.

What is it going to take to push you over the edge to join?? TODAY???

Like other organizations, numbers equals power. Many officials may even equate that into votes either for or against them, so having a larger membership may help with access considerations in the future. But currently my drive to hit over 500 would be to help us gain better insurance opportunities which would make things a lot easier for our crew leaders and volunteers.

I was at lippmann park ? not sure if its the correct spelling and they had QR code places to scan and get the trail maps . Maybe something like that would bring some in , most humans are lazy so this could would work . Go to any restaurant and look around the tables . You will always find a family of four all staring into the phones . just a thought .
