Was showing a friend the fat bike last night. Then I dreamt it snowed and I went fat biking. Was very sad to wake up and find it had all melted already.

I raced the sun home. It won, but this picture made it worth it.

Day #25 - https://www.strava.com/activities/353964984

Today I was just testing a connector between 6-Mile and Rutgers. My Garmin shut off on Orange so there's just a straight line. Didn't cut much off the ride. Had a time constraint so maybe tomorrow I'll throw together a nice big off-road loop. I need about 8-hours to stay on target but I might slack off and make it up next week with a mini-bikepacking weekend.

75 hours / 1,082 miles as of right now.

Saturday ride
7/25
Was on-call for work so had to stay local. Did what little climbing I could for that area.

Met this guy who also agreed it was a little warm out. But he was not much of a conversationalist.

Day 25: https://www.strava.com/activities/353952502

Some DH runs at Plattekill. Originally meant to ride with Arwen's Mom, but seemed to be on the wrong ride/lift rotation. I did end up riding with an old friend I hadn't seen since my racing days. Good day.
Was really hoping to ride with ya! But it was nice chatting with ya. Plattekill is still my favorite place to ride. Love those trails....and shale surfing ;) Nice chatting with someone who gets that.

As for my day yesterday, I did do a local half hour ride before we left for platty. I had a great day of riding. No crashes. No broken bike parts. I did have to hug a tree to keep from tumbling down the hill due to the fact I am klutzy when getting on my bike (hangs head in shame). My second run I actually forgot to turn on my garmin (aaahhhhhhh!) but I kept on my buddies butt the whole way down and so figure I will copy his stats. A little bummed as it was my fastest and best run the whole day too. Oh well.
the only down side to the day is I feel I just down have the stamina I used to have to do DH runs all day. But I still got in 7 I think (havent even uploaded them yet). Little achy this morning.
Heres some flip flops you gotta see

UPDATE:
Some of you may know I have been battling this high blood pressure thing. I have been having some success but still cant get it down to that happy 120/80 my Dr thinks I should have. Well, seems downhilling at platty yesterday was what I need. Took it this morning and its 121/82.

So, how do I get a Dr prescription to cover downhill costs and get my insurance to cover it. Looks like I gotta move.

It definitely takes time to build up DH endurance again. When I did the Blue Mtn enduro it was the first lift-serve riding I'd done in 2015 and I suffered for it. And then for a first few times doing lift days at Blue, I couldn't get down the mtn without stopping to rest my legs. But last weekend I did two top-to-bottom runs on the '15 GRT course at Mtn Creek along with a couple of runs down the blue or green trails continuing down Lower Greenhorn. I didn't do any top to bottom runs at Plattekill, but mainly because the guys I was riding with rode at different speeds/confidence levels, so we had to stop to regroup a few times each run. Although a couple of times when I was following the leader, we did longer stints since as long as "somebody" was behind him he didn't like to stop.

Today's Day 26 ride this morning before showering and heading up to work. Nothing crazy, but it felt good to put in a moderate effort with minimal traffic: https://www.strava.com/activities/354440119

Went racing today...wanted to do the cat 4/5 race @ freedom tour crit, but the only person i knew that was signed up was in the cat 5 race. so went there. He is a LC guy, there were like 8 in the race - and 3 from HB - so i figured i'd wheel suck whichever team lead out. and wheel suck i did - the whole race i was in the top 5. one solid attack w/HB fellas created a gap, but we couldn't make it stick -

came to the last corner, still top 5, immediately got traffic on both sides of me, not a problem - went to start sprinting, and there was nothing there...oh well, still fun - ended up coasting across 12 seconds back with nothing more than an easy spin on the last straight. fella from HB won, his teammate did a nice job leading him out.

think the race averaged about 25mph - would have been faster if they knew how to turn....the climbing was killer.

Good word! Bonus points ;)

It definitely takes time to build up DH endurance again.
Thanks. Guess I will just have to do more DH riding (woohoo). It is surprising how much it actually takes out of ya. So the next time riding partners bust my chops for getting tired on climbs, I will have to ask them "how many non stop DH runs you can do?"

@fidodie nice leg. No worries. I didnt shave today either. I told hubby that with weight loss and more riding my definition is getter better, and I may shave to show it off. Total vanity there.

I was worried abut being "done with this" by this time. But pacing myself and doing easy rides has helped me immensely compared to the last time I tried this. I have also been more conscience of foods I eat before and after rides. And I lost another 2 lbs since I last noted a weight loss on here. I also think the platty visit rejuvenated me.

So today Hubby and I were going to hit 6M but due to some time constraints we decided to just putz around. I took him to a small park in EB that has the hugest oak tree I have ever seen. It has a metal cable going up it. Would that be to protect the tree if hit by lightning? If so, thats totally cool. You can see the cable in the photo. Then hubby wanted to be a butterfly and a bee. We like bees. Bees are totally cool. I wanted to keep a hive in my yard, but my neighbors all said "NO WAY." Bummer.

Enjoy.
