Hi All,

Below is a link to my first attempt at posting a video online...please be gentle with me😱

I was in SW Utah riding and camping on Gooseberry Mesa last october and it was just unreal! This video is helmet mounted as I was going thru a trail called the Hidden Canyon Trail...was just really sick!! I used a HERO Go Pro HD for the video.

Let me know what you think(if the link even works!!). I have a few more from the same trip that I will be getting up shortly, different POV etc.

After riding in Moab, I get excited whenever I see white dots painted on the ground. Looks like fun there too.

Nice vid. I would like to go out there this year as well. How did you adjust to the altitude?

Hi Jase, no adjustment for altitude really...our camp was on the mesa at about 5k ft elevation and I didn't notice any ill effects physically. Heat was the killer...there were small trees/shrubs to duck under when taking a break, but while riding there is not the canopy that used to here in the northeast.

If you can get out there do it...you will not be disappointed!

I miss Gooseberry and SW Utah in general; I used to work up on the North Rim so it was my local trail. Did you ride anything else out there, tons of great riding out there its better then Moab in my opinion.

Very cool video. This is on my list of places to ride before I die.

I wish they had the white dots at Sourlands, I can never find the fun lines unless Im following Jeff.

We have white dots on the newest trail at the gnarly rock gardens on both sides of the stream crossing. I guess they are kind of faded, so thanks for the reminder. They really do help keep you on the line.

great video work looks like some really cool down hill flow have to put that on my must ride list thanks for sharing.

Hey cbiker,

We hit a lot of the trails in that area...JEM trail, Hurricane Rim, Little Creek Mesa, North Rim & South Rim, as well as the Santa Clara River Preserve network of trails just north of St George(I think the trails included Sidewinder and Barrel Roll). It was just awesome out there, and I know we just scratched the surface of the trails out there! Can't wait to go back.

I have video of some of the other trails that I will be putting up shortly...hopefully you like them! It was fun making them for sure!!

Thanks for the info. I'm planning to go there, however not sure where to stay. We have place at the Canyons we can stay at for really cheap. I know during the summer is the SW Utah busiest time of the year. Will just have to see.

Did it get any more technical than what you show in the video? Doesn't look too difficult in terms of crazy rocks.

Also, how would you compare (technically) the other places you mentioned to Hidden Canyon?

Nice sounds like you had a good trip, I used to ride out there every weekend when the temps weren't too high. There are some other good high elevation trails in the area when its hotter out like Brian Head and Red Canyon and Rainbow Rim up on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, but if its cool out St. George, Hurricane probably has the most interesting trails.

(if your heading out there in the summer you'll want to be riding in the early morning and be done be 10am or ride up at higher ele. or you'll roast, up high (>8000 ft) you may need a few days to acclimate, it varies from person to person)

Some sections were more tech that whats on the video...mainly rocky sections or riding on exposed areas(read that cliffs). But there was also some great sections that just flowed...I am going to post two more vids from the trip tonight, one shows riding on the edge a bit, the other a seatpost view looking back which is really cool.

If you can ride the trails in N Jersey with confidence you would have no problem out there.

I would start sweating, scream like a little girl, then fall over the edge. I'm eager to see this one, though!

I wouldn't add the word "confidence" yet, but I hope to some day 😱
