Going Long and Hard.

Is it Saturdays? Dang. Why does everybody do stuff on Saturdays? Don't they know some of us have to get that paper!!??

On the bright side. With all the races and TMs being on Saturdays, I have a lot more time to ride :D

-Jim.

Monday.

Hartshorne group ride. Me and Dusty Balls met up with some local yocals and went for a bike ride. Cruiser Don was one of the yocals, I haven't seen Don in quite some time so that was pretty cool. That guy Eric that made the Hartshorne video was there also. He shreds the gnar, as long as the gnar isn't uphill at all :D

I brung the Pugsley as to keep myself in check in a social group-ride setting. I thought we were going pretty slow but I fear my interpretation of slow isn't quite the same as guys that don't race bikes. So those guys peeled off about 1/2 way around loop #1. We had fun while it lasted. Then me and Dusty Balls banged out another 1x1/2 loops. We did my infamous "SingleSpeed Killer" loop. Which I found out is also a Pugsley Killer. I hit the red more times than I'd like to mention. My HR actually went into the 180's.

-Jim.

Damn, Cruiser Don is a name I haven't heard in a long while - that goes back to the late 90's/BK days! It's been a while and real good to see you. Come to think of it, that might have been the first time we've ridden trail together.

I guess I'm a Hart local yocal but I think that was the 3rd or 4th time riding trail there for '11. I was telling Erik I had more TM hours there this year than ride hours, haha.

Good ride and I know we go slow but we have fun :D E and I hit up a few things a couple times and I had a feeling we were keeping the MPH low but I just couldn't help myself :)

One of these days, I'd like to build up a light XC HT and see what I could do on it. I'd need about 5 years of training to keep up with you guys tho!

Don't you need to take like 500 hours of volunteer training to do trail-work in Monmouth County? I'd dig at the Shorne, I love that place :D

-Jim.

haha, nah, just one 3 hour training class. And it's good - no matter how much you know on TM you'll learn a thing or 2.

Shorne is good now, just a few sections that need some dialing/fine tuning and it will be sick. And how many places have those views we saw on Rocky Point??

-Jim.

I have the opposite problem - most TM within 90min drive is on weekday nights.

Wednesday.

Help!! I'm dying. Broke out in some weirdo full body rash Tuesday night. I had a little rash on my legs during the day but I thought it was just from the cold. Nope. Apparently, I'm allergic to something? I was pretty sure I'd end up in the hospital at some point. I took some of my wife's allergy pills and it went away after a couple hours. Woke up Wednesday morning pretty beat though. The rash left marks...

Strange. The only thing I'm allergic to is Penicillin. You don't normally come across that on the daily. Although Rone has been sick and is on some antibiotics so there is a possibilty...

-Jim.

Nice shaved legs going there. Takes true commitment in December!!!

Maybe it's from the rusty razor you've been using all year;)

Nah. Alan got it. I have cooties!! Lordy knows with all these hoes running around...

Friday.

Insanity. Shop insanity. Busy like woah. Bike commute so I got some points for the winter comp thing. All of our good regular customers were dropping food and goodies off all day. Jess and John dropped off lunch, desserts, and drinks all around. Good peeps. I got a box of waffles and some cupcakes. I gained like 20 pounds in one day.

Saturday.

Commute into work in the AM. Have a waffle when I get in :D

Mike helped himself to pretty much everything left in the kitchen. At first I was sorta mad, but then I was really happy. It doesn't matter if his fat-ass gets any fatter, but it does matter if mine does

Early day so I hit the road for another 3 hours after work. Good ride. 70 miles (ish). Still not all that chilly out, no gloves or booties today.

Have to cut this short to go out for family festivities. It's the one time of the year I get to be in a room where I'm 100 pounds lighter than anyone else there...

-Jim.

Those the Costco waffles? I grabbed some. They are really, really sugary. I still can't decide if I liked them.

Maybe? Idk they were a gift. I covered them in Biscoff so I can't comment on their sweetness ;)

Ps. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas.

Anyone with kids that are my kids ages will know what a clusterbomb Christmas Eve is!! After we got home from our family get together, we had to finish wrapping presents and setting up the stuff under the tree, etc, etc, etc. By the time we were done it was like 2 am or some poop. Slept like 4 hours before the kids were up and jumping on the bed :drooling:

I tracked some of the reign deer food into the house to make it look like Santa made a mess. Ethan caught it. About 15 minutes later our house was trashed.

I asked my wife not to get me anything as I'm going away next week and I'm in the process of building up my new super-secret murder project. She got me something anyway, of course. A welding helmet and gloves for my class.

Afterwards me and the Hebrew Hammer took to the road for the Round Valley loop. Riding with Eric was nice because it kept me in check and well inside zone 1. Nice and basey, just it should be...

4 and change hours. Winner winner tofu dinner. Which is what I came home to. Tofurkey #2 for the year!! Nice. The in-laws were over in the evening and we just chilled out while the boys ran around like crazy people until they finally passed out. Then my wife slipped into one of her X-Mas presents (which was actually a present for me ;))...

Boxing Day.

That reference is for my Limey friends!! Oi!! Capers, Dusty Balls, and DH Sean met me at my crib and we rode over to the Rock. I rode the Pugsley just to punish myself. The wind on the way there was brutal, pedaling that bike into a head wind on the road is not the funnest thing I've done

We went in on top of Vosseller and ran into Jeremy in the Miller Lot. Game on!! The Pugsley is a blast at the Rock. I'm not sure if it's a handicap at all there, the climbs are slow enough anyways. We did have to listen to Sean cry like Myerson the entire ride. Now that he's a Piney he's afraid of rocks. I checked at our pit stop to see if he still had balls or if we're too late and it's full vag.

Dusty was too Gangsta to help. I guess we'll never know for sure. Capers set the tempo for the trip home. Ended up at 3:20. I estimated 4. C-Rock has a way of becoming a cluster-F real fast. Besides Dusty breaking his rear rim, we had no mechanicals. Good ride to round out my 3-day weekend...

I hope you recycled that wrapping paper. Some people forget that it is actually paper and you can recycle it.

Dusty should have lent a hand to help Sean out, after all you guys tag teamed him at Allaire. -points for Dusty
