Going Long and Hard.

Monday...

Tons of stuff today...

Had my partner in crime with me today because he had off from school! First we went to the shop to rebuild Todd's Empella. As usual, Todd's bike was uber-jacked so we left it so we can go wreak havoc elsewhere and not spend all day wrenching...

Grabbed some lunch and then loaded the bikes on the bunny to hit some dirt. Ended up at 6-mile. We rode the blue trail out and back. Eric had a blast!! My shoulder, not so much, luckily we averaged about 3 mph😉

Next up we rolled into PT. My shoulder was pretty sore from riding so PT was torture. He had some new exercises for me. Ouchie. At least I thought ouchie until the massage, then I wanted to cry. Then he stretched me and I wanted to punch him in the balls!! My eyes watered. PAIN!!

Went back to the shop to finish Todd's bike and found all the parts for my Seven came in, sans wheels, sweet!! So I got to rebuild my MudHoney and get it ready for whenever I can race and/or ride it😀

Tuesday...

I would consider today my first "official" day back on the bike. Nothing too crazy, just rode to/from work. Of course that involved a round trip over Washington Rock. I think I averaged something like 100 watts and 300 bpm😀

My main focus will first be to just get some more range of motion in my shoulder. The reach to my hood is my max right now so I had to spend a good part of my ride on the the flats. Whatevah. It just felt so good to ride my bike!!

Here's some data?

Entire workout (150 watts):
Duration: 1:25:03 (1:25:03)
Work: 764 kJ
TSS: 65.7 (intensity factor 0.681)
Norm Power: 197
Distance: 20.541 mi
Min Max Avg
Power: 0 581 150 watts
Heart Rate: 106 181 147 bpm
Cadence: 29 143 71 rpm
Speed: 2.4 32.5 14.5 mph

So. Obviously it can ONLY get better from this point. The numbers really don't mean anything. Like I said before, my main focus will be getting my shoulder to go through the motions...

There's no way this can be right anymore. Your threshold power has to be way, way down from what it was. I'm sure you won't be doing any threshold tests soon though.

Good luck and be safe!

Yeah. The numbers mean nothing at this point. I also think I need to change the battery in my HR strap. Whatever. None of it really matters, there's still a ways to go before I care about my fitness😀

Wow, 181 max huh? We should race now.

It would give me a false sense of accomplishment? 😉

Then show up to my first cross race back, you and the rest of the field can take full advantage of me. It'll be easier than murdering a litter of new-born kittens😛

I think your ready for Allaire, son. It's flat - no power needed. See you soon, once the sand is frozen. 😀

Glad to hear you are out on the bike again, I will be sure to try my best to not run you over with 80,000 pounds of Pepsi😀

Wednesday...

So I took the longer way into work to go up Chimney Rock Road instead of Washington Rock...Felt a little better today, I think I have about 2mm more reach than yesterday. Then I rode from the shop to PT. Spent an hour doing all that crazy stuff, then rode home. Granted my crib is about 3 minutes from PT, but after having my arm wrenched on that was a PAINFUL 3 minutes🙁

More data...I actually got a few 5 minute-ish efforts in just to test the legs...Didn't feel as bad as I thought it might...I'm hoping the billion miles of base I put in will come in handy over the next month😉
