Going Long and Hard.

I’ll actually write something now that I have a minute or 3 to catch up.

I was planning on doing the Soft Rocks Route first week of October so I’ve been getting MTB miles in and prepping the Scalpel for a monster bikepacking ride. After 6-Mile the other morning I noticed a ton of play in the front end. Felt like the fork so I planned on dropping it off at Halter’s Friday. Just for shits and giggles I swapped the wheels off the Timberjack and all the play went away. I just rebuilt the Hollowgram wheels so I broke something in the hub shell. Great, the stock carbon wheels suck so bad anyway 😂

Anywho, it’s not the fork. See above MTB rides to confirm fork is good.

In any event, I was on the Waitlist for the Endless Mountains 1200k. I am no longer on the Waitlist and am in. Which is bad and good. Bad because it’s almost 2 weeks earlier and I have no idea if I’m ready for that shit, good because I can do the Soft Rocks ride in late October which suits me a lot better.

Went to start prepping my gear for a Grand Brevet and found my Dyno wheels were cracked. Barely cracked, but cracked enough to submit a claim and get a new set.

Swapped all kinds of tires around to get the Terra CL wheels on the Caledonia and the recently fixed broken wheels on the gravel bike with the 50c tires.

So many wheels. I have 4 different wheel sets for the Caledonia 😂

Sorry. Lafayette Village in NJ to Easton. I have never clipped a GPS file; I will give it a shot. Thx.

Go to Edit in RWGPS and the toolbar shows up on the right hand side. You drag from the beginning to where you want to cut in the elevation box at the bottom and hit delete.

Thanks for the hints. I think I am changing direction and may hit New Paltz and crush some gravel out that way for the first time tomorrow and then hit your route in the near future.

Commute to work. On Labor Day. Because Satan. Busy all day because we were the only shop open 🤷

I did take a couple minutes before my ride home to retape my bars with real tape. Sram always sends me that service course tape but I really hate it a lot. Also gave me a chance to put some gel pads behind my hoods. I only have to do this on Shimano because the edge it makes to the bar screws up my hand. On my old Ultegra Di2 I filed the hoods flush to the bar…

And photo on Washington Rock. But I went up the 22 side on the way in instead.

Back at 6-Mile this morning. Couldn’t get across South Middlebush at 7:30am so I stayed on the canal side and dicked around. I think if you do 2 laps of the Red/White + out/back on Blue it’s the same mileage. I’ll test that next time.

Bike was creaky AF from that red dust so I had to pull and lube the pivots at work.

Something missing in that picture...did you move the Ocho to the pink bike?
