I Guitar-Pro'd After The Burial's RareForm album and started picking stuff out. I found out that they actually tune 1/2 step LOWER!! F, not F+. Jesus. They need to tab out 8-string stuff weird because there's nothing that goes past 7 out yet. They tab them as 2 4-string basses and you have to put it together as the top and bottom. It took a bit to grasp but now I can read it. Learned some of the cooler parts, no full songs yet, it's a start.

Excellent. The idea of reading 8 strings of tab hurts my brain. 4 and 4 seems really simple in comparison. So, can you hear the F? And how the heck do you tune something you can't really hear?

Chimney Rock Inn pizza was great. Love the paper thin crust.

I vote for yellow tape.
 
Sandy. The only pain in the booty is that in GP6 you can only look at the top4 or bottom4 separately so you need to click back and forth on the different channels. Kinda weird. I can actually hear the F now, before it all just sounded like mud. Running through scales and stuff on that monster neck makes you feel like a god when you go back to the little 6-string😀

Now that does sound crazy. I was assuming the two groupings of four strings could be seen at the same time. If I had to do it that way the little numbers and dots would be swimming all over the page. I think I'd have a better chance with my eyes closed and my ears open.😉
 
Ha, no, that would be far too easy😀

There's a few of these new prog-metal bands using the 8-strings so at some point GP will figure it out and add a line. I hope.

This guy rocks, Tosin Abasi from Animals As Leaders. They hit everything from metal to jazz in instrumental form. Great CD. He tunes his 8th string to a low E, which is silly, but he completely pulls it off.

I can her my wife upstairs playing guitar too. She learned "More of myself to kill" by Between the Buried and Me for me a few years ago, :love:
 
Today

AKA, sunday. Rain. Blah. Normally I'd hit the road anywho but being that I'm in my BBQ Dipsy Doodle phase, I skipped the bike😀

Unfortunately for me it looks like the Fin has me scheduled to start doing some work tomorrow. I haven't decided if it'll be MTB or road yet, I'll make the call in the morning but I'm leaning towards MTB. Thinking the D&R to Sourlands, should be long enough.

Shop was stupid slow today. I wonder if anyone knows we're open on sundays the next 2 weeks? Maybe not. I used the time to rebuild the Crux. I stripped it to the frame a few days ago and soaked everything in the parts cleaner so it's mint for whoever buys it. Actually it's sold so, YAY!! Came out nice, you almost can't tell it's been raced in the mud. Almost😀

It does however feature my trademark crank rub, not sure what that's all about. No one's been able to figure it out, my pedal stroke is dead on in the trainer. I must do something with my heel when I stand or something, not sure. Whatever yo.

Watched the Elite chick race before I left the shop. Katie murdered it!! When I came home I watched the Elite mens race. I was rooting for the J-Pow but he's riding a Super-X so of course he fell and his bike stopped working giving the T-O-D-D the lead and win. Todd is riding a $600 Crux Elite frameset!! Murder!! Who says you need a fancy smancy plastic bike to be fast!?

The geetar. Spending all these hours practicing my shredding is starting to really pay off. My picking speed has gotten noticeably faster and smoother. My fingers have been pretty sore though. Going out to jam with Angel tomorrow night and learn some more poop. I need to find a case for the 8-string so I can bring that thing out with me, so far, no luck. I did learn that silly song Luke wanted me to learn. Piece of cake!! Gave my brain a rest today and left the 8-string on the wall😱

Its probably just from mud being on your shoes. Looks sweet man, cant wait to ride it again!
 
I couldn't get that on line video to work either, I was bummed.
Jim my secret sources say you just switched from the Joule back to Garmin for the powertap. I am doing the deed this week and keep flipping back and forth in my decision. You mind sharing your thoughts? Which Garmin are you using with the PT?

Isn't every guy guilty of this?
but seriously I have the same issue. In the trainer the bike is 90 degrees upright, maybe on the trail when your off camber you shift you heels?
