Going Long and Hard.

Jim, please take that injury seriously and seek out multiple opinions. I had a friend who broke his pelvis in a car accident and it's never healed and he's been in pain for 20 years. He tried to tough it out.

DM if you want to talk to him. He's unfortunately extremely versed in it now and would do things differently.

Rest and heal!

As I mentioned on your FB post, this sucks to hear. Healing vibes.

Echoing what @Carson said. Seek out some other opinions. I have a friend, former DHer, that broke his hip at Plattekill a few years ago. @Ian F, I believe you may know him as he could pass as your brother.

He was choppered to Albany Medical Center but opted to not have the surgery there. Was adamant that he wanted out and get to Penn for all the repairs by a doctor that had dealt with all his previous injuries. All fixed up, however, don't think he bikes much anymore. I could reach out to him for information on his surgeon.

Not sure how many know already, but I put myself in the hospital last night commuting home. Front tire blew out on the last corner coming down Washington Rock.

Stopped traffic for about 20 minutes. The homeowners where I crashed came out and helped get out of the road.

I initially thought it wasn’t bad but when I couldn’t stand and my leg was clicking around I knew we had to go to RWJ.

Bunch of road rash on my left side where I slid down the hill, cracked my Pelvis clean through this time, which is a lot more painful than it sounds 😂

Also smacked the shit out my wrist, didn’t break but I can’t use it to prop myself up and that kinda sucks.

I was able to get around on a walker with an armrest so they opted to not do surgery. Took me almost 30 minutes to walk from the car to door and then my 2 boys had to carry me up the porch.

Not sure how long I’m out for, this is a pretty bad injury for a cyclist so we need to make sure to do it right.

Shit, shit, shit. Terrible place to suddenly lose the front tire. At least nobody ran you over.

Hope things work out as best possible.
