Oh what are the chances of that happening, wow.:hmmm:

Tuesday

Shopnizzle ride. We did the swamp loop, again. Was hoping to hit the big loop but with the clouds and such we decided to stay close. Rode sorta aggressive, it was a small group of us so it was easy to keep the ride under control. Paceline was tight throughout. I pulled from the gun and through the "neutral start". Attacked way too early on the first sprint. I went on the rise just after the blinking light, that's like a mile too far😀

I made it 1/2 way across the flat at the bottom before the wind finally did me in and I popped. Ouch. I managed to just roll and get 3rd so it wasn't a complete waste. Attacked VERY hard on the little climb sprint and thought I had it in the bag and sat up just a tad too early and the Sneez came around me on the line. My PT died before that point on the ride but it would've been nice to see what that number was, my HR was over 180 so, blah.

Battled with Sellers for a bit and finally got him on the little false flat before the swamp road. I got popped during the last sprint and then the Sneez and Sellers tried to get a gap afterwards. I bridged but my legs were fading, the climb next to Norm's house did me in for good and I got dropped from the ride. Sellers, Sneez, Joe M, and new guy Jon made it back first, I rolled in a minute or so after. Feels good to get popped every once in a while, means my legs are getting some work:getsome:

Oh and I think all that single-ring work has paid off, peep my average cadence during the past few rides, over 90rpm the whole time. Prolly over 100 more times than not. I notice in the line that my leg speed is quite a bit faster than everyone else's. Sweet.

I had this happen on the way in to Hackettstown for a shop ride. Lil bugger went in on the right, stayed in my wheel for about 20yds and then ejected to the left. On the way home i looked for him but no sign, he musta lived. Seriously scarey situation that i ended up gettin really lucky with.

Wednesday

Day off tha bizzle. We had our staff meeting thing so I had to boogie to work after dropping off the boys. Go over our yearly goals, stuff, and mumbo jumbo. So not exciting. I nearly fell asleep looking at progress charts blown up on a projector screen. Zzzzzzzz.

Bikes!! Hey. This thing came through my stand today. While it's not the blingiest thing out there, it got me excited.

I know, I know, it's just a POS Mongoose!! But it's a POS Mongoose with a nearly NEW M900 XTR kit on it!! Guy never rode the bike, ever, not one single mile. The group cleaned up very nice and looked new when I was done, even had the matching headset.

I'm not sure why I love econo box cars from the 80's, but I do, I may need to seek professional help😛

Not sure what's on the plate for tomorrow (today in real life). I've been feeling a tad tired so I may sit out and take a few days to recover before MurderKill.

CRAZY!!! I had that IBOC in Hot Pink back in the day... The triangular tube was the selling point... I also have the same XTR brakes on my cross bike right now

BTW, I missed the TT race recap, very cool! Congrats on the finish

Chick I knew in HS had one of those Justy's...I remember it was the first car I ever drove with a CVT trans....It was the definition of flooring it and nothing happening other than additional noise. I think subie just used 500cc polaris snowmobile engines, but they cut them to about 1/2 the horsepower. 🙂

This one was a GL...If I came across an RS I would be slightly tempted to own it, same with the Festiva. I've started the process in locating a Fox Wagon to replace the Refridgeagon. Or worst case I may throw some 14's on the GTI so it will actually drive on the highway. With the 13's I can't balance the wheels because they barely fit over the brakes and there's no room for any weights on the inside. I could do weights on the outside but I'd rather not😀

FYI, they are no longer making 13 inch tires in tuner sizes. I may be one of 20 people this actually effects, but nonetheless.

I owned a '86 Fox. It ignited my passion for Dubs. I'll never forget the smell and the elegant simplicity of the dash. I replaced it with a Jetta GLX. Unfortunately, a Diesel Golf killed my Dub passion.

those velociraptors look brand new too. i'm sure they are original since that was about the only tire anyone ran during that time.

i ditched the original velociraptors i had on my 970 (only lowly xt) when i got norm's cinders.

Before the Velociraptor, there was the legendary Smoke & Dart combo, which kicked off the whole front/back tire craze. That's what you're looking at on this bike.

I was sporting Ritchey WCS Z-Max tires back then.

I skipped the first XTR offerings. I went with Suntour XC Pro Micro Drive. I've always gone by the beat of a different drummer.

not that i would argue with a scholar, but those be f/r specific velociraptors. i'll bet you a bike rack. 😀

but you are right on the smoke/dart combo being earlier.

FYI, that bike has the OG Smoke/Dart combo. I have them sitting here next to my bench if someone wants them😀

The tread is brand new but the sidewalls are completely dry. Back in those days I rode the Panaracer White Magics, remember those!!?? Here's 2 of my OldSkool rigs...

And here, for Jdog...I too used to have an MTBNJ themed rig well before MTBNJ existed😀

Damn, I am wrong! It is simply amazing how closely those two tread patterns are. Chris, I owe you a car rack. 😀

enough is enough - I got this car from my first employer back it 1996 . (it was manufactured also during the 90's - the model you have taken is from the 80's )
this is a reliable piece of crap . even for a one coming from a country that a Toyota camary is considered as luxurious car .

as one that own a Golf GTI you cannot make such comparison .nor making a point you have seen a special car .
