Goddamn Chiggers!!!

omg, wtf seriously this isn't getting ANY better. i think i'm going to amputate my foot soon.
i think the only thing worse than the chiggers is that my girlfriend is a biologist with "germs" obsessive compulsive annoyance disorder.
i'm pretty sure she boiled all my sheets and socks and she treats me like i have full blown aids 🙁

I know this will bring up some interesting responses, but the only thing that got my experience under control when it just kept spreading was to go to a dermotologist and she injected all the spots with cordisone, 2 days and it was done.

funny part ( and I am dooming myself now )
mine don't itch at all just a bunch of little red dots on my ankles
I rode 6 Mile and Allaire yesterday, and awoke today to find this same condition on my right ankle. Little reddish bumps that don't itch.

I guess I'll wait and see how it goes from here?:hmmm: Some of you folks are telling some miserable stories.

Yep, the ITCH began a couple of hours after I wrote that. It seems like they just got me on the front/outside of my right ankle.

Everything I've read says that they wash off in the shower, they don't burrow, and it's just a matter of riding it out with topical anti-itch/antihistamines. I am super-allergic to poison ivy, so I'm pretty used to walking around with itchy bumps on my ankles and legs. This will be my first chigger experience in 16 years of riding, though. Learn something new every day, right?🙄

I feel for ya bud....I hate them so. My ritual is to check tire pressure, spray legs with Off, and then grab the helmet and gloves. Always spray your shoes too.

i find that a hot shower makes the itch WORSE. yeah my worst bites are down around the front of my ankles and up the back of my right calf. mine have finally basically stopped itching. nearly 3 weeks. haah

Based on my current application rate, you should expect to see Benadryl's stock rising soon.🙄

Get some Witch Hazel.

I grew up in N.C. Florida and red bugs were a daily occurence. Seemed to be the only thing to work.

Update: Bumps are still there, but no itching as of yesterday. So I was bitten last Tuesday, and the itching was pretty much gone by the end of the weekend. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting, based on some of the stories I'd read. Lots of topical Benadryl seems to have done the trick for me.😀
