Go visit Asheville and help their economy! 😊

And then you moved there?
Yeah one thing you realize when living where I live, is it's extremely removed from Asheville. Culturally more so than geographically. This past Sunday was our 3rd time I think in the city in the last two years of living here and one of those times was because my wife's parent's dragged us there to give them a tour, as if we know the place.

It's similar to how this area is the "South" but there's no real southern culture, it's Appalachian. Bluegrass playing in stores, not country.

So I will be at the Harrah's Cherokee Resort in January, 21-26, for an annual industry convention. It's a bit west of Asheville. I have the option to fly down, but thinking about driving and taking the bike to ride some of the Brevard area after. Looks like there's some trails nearby in Cherokee. Anyone here ever ride them?

Will hit Brevard, Dupont, and Bent Creek afterwards.

Fire Mountain has been the popular trails system up there. No personal experience but if I was over there I'd certainly hit it.

I know I might sound like a prick for saying this but I'll consider going back there when they decide to allow ebikes. Yes, I know Kanuga allows it but I want to ride other places too. I've been there on my analog bikes before and have contributed to their economy but now I've included an ebike in my quiver so I would be happy to ride there when they let me.

Just throwing this out there. Town/Area was hopping this past weekend as the weather was in the 70s so plenty of people took the opportunity to travel here. Trails were in great condition.

There's now a SorbaFest (Western North Carolina Bike Fest) for the first time, May 10 that looks to be based out of a brewery near the base of Pisgah.
