The Pocono Bike Club is hosting a race on Sunday, October 20th at Glen Park!!! This will be the first ever officially sanctioned race in Glen Park. Let's take this opportunity to show support for our local parks and our new bike club. All proceeds will directly help the club and our local parks.

From New Jersey, Glen Park only about 5 miles across the Delaware River and is about 1/4 mile off of I-80.

To register, follow the link below. It will allow participants to register starting this Monday. Within about a week, we will have a garmin file uploaded on bikereg.

If you know of any local businesses that would like to sponsor our event or donate prizes for our racers, please contact me directly. We would appreciate any help. So far we have some great sponsors on board: Vertical Earth Mountain Sports, Arlington Diner, ESSA, & Strauser Natures Helpers.

Thanks,
Nick

this is a great mix of trails which i havent been on in like 15yrs. The hill is real the location is easy to get to and I would defiantly recommend peeps to check this out, keep the mountain bike season going!!!

Jeff check out some YouTube videos before you commit to this. When they say vertical gravity they really mean it .. although there's probably go arounds I don't think this is a Xc type of race .. although it's possible they won't include the jump/drop type of stuff, I dunno.

Soundz,

While the Glen does have DH runs, this is totally an XC race. We made a nice course that shows all the Glen has to offer. Many of the DH runs are crossed over during the course but you don't race down any of them. We think its a good course that CAT 3's to Pros will find challenging but fun at the same time.

This is my local park and can tell you it's filled with great xc trails. It's known for being a DH/Freeride spot but has so much more to offer. Please come out and support this race and our new IMBA inspired bike club. As Nick said above, all levels of riders will enjoy this course.

Well I take back my previous comment based on what noreastn & Dan says .. if the jump features are not in the race then I believe the course is pretty smooth, not much rocks (based on video evidence, I've never been there).

We've made a decision to change the format of our upcoming race. Due to a loaded calendar for other disciplines, we will be switching our race to a Super D.

This will be a single-run, Super D. Check out BikeReg for more information:
