Gas powered bikes?

Fun times. Let me know when you want to go ride. You build trails on your property??

I know a guy.

Nice, Luke! Those things are pretty much bombproof. Had a dual purpose bike as my first streetbike, went all over the place with it. Nice get man!

New to me DR 650. Lots of fun, 1st upgrade - new rear shock and front forks will get upgraded springs and will have aftermarket valves installed. 😀

Nice, my bike is such a gas hog that Ive been contemplating picking up a dual sport for commuting.

KTM 350/450 is a great bike, I have been riding a long time and would also suggest getting basic riding in on a duel sport bike, New Jersey has a lot to offer if you know where to ride and the bike is street legal, it's a lot easier cruising on sand roads and single track and getting the feel of how everything works then to be on a road with all the distractions. Getting the basic knowledge and applying it is key , if you make a mistake on the street it usually comes with a big price , if you get something like a D/s bike message me and I will show you unlimited riding

Since you brought it up..

Here are some pics from the quarry run in hancock NY last week

110 miles of mostly singletrack in one day. Reason enough to own a dualsport

Great discussion

I grew up riding moto's and was considering getting a dual sport or an adventure touring bike as a commuter/plaything. I've seen a lot of positive opinions on dual sport bikes - what are thoughts on the adventure touring kind?

I like the Dual Sport and Adventure Touring segment of the industry. If you want to ride more than just an occasional dirt road, than a Dual Sport is a way to go.

I do see people ride dirt on Adv. Bikes, but that is just crazy.

I took the easy way out and got one of each.

Nice,
Looks like it was fun. Did you guys camp out?

I had a couple of friends that went. There were a couple of beak ins this year.😡

You used to be able to leave keys in a truck, in case somebody needed to move the truck and the trailer to get out. The times they are changing.😕

I grew up owning and riding dirt bikes and then road bikes until 23 years ago. A lot of my mtn biking friends kept suggesting to get a road bike, so I did, a 1991 Yamaha FJ1200. GO BIG OR STAY HOME!! 😀

stats on you pass(es) ?

That night, there were two mods to the bike
- K&N Air filters
- Front end strapped and lowered (helped with a better 60ft time)
everything else - Bone stock

I don't have the slip in front of me but that was a great night because I broke into the 9's. The run was High 9.90s, 1.7 or 1.6 60 ft time and I believe the MPH was 144 or 146.

Since then, I've put a Brock's full pipe, Dynojet power commander with the timing module & lowering links in the back... I haven't run it since and it needs a good dyno tune map because after those mods, I lost some smoothness a low end and has a wierd flat spot while cruising at 70mph in 5th / 6th gear around 3700rpm.. I've played around with Brocks maps and trying to tune it myself but I can't get it. I was thinking about taking to Fast by Ferracci in PA to build me a few good maps (Road, race, open pipe & baffled pipe)

if you're serious...

i really want a gas powered bicycle

I could talk to my uncle... He is one of those "Hoarders" who has been collecting and building franken road bikes with motors on them. I thought he was nuts but he is pretty legit. He brought a vintage 70's motorized road bike over my house the other night.. I have to tell you, it was real nice. He collects and restores old Whizzers and bike like that.

If you're serious, I can see if he has stuff laying around to build one.

Every time he comes over my house, he is eyeing up my bikes and tells me we should throw a motor on it..

Imagine your C-Dale with a small 2 stroke motor on it. It would make the W101 much easier.. You will definately finish under 9 hours 😉

not so much a dirt bike, i dont have the vehicle to tow it with 😛

something like dis:
