Gas powered bikes?

Wonder what the mortality rate is like on the track vs on the street.
Statistically speaking track is much safer than the street. Also, what hammers motorcycle fatality rates is about 50% of deaths are under the influence of drugs or alcohol each year. Then there’s the helmetless, and excessive speed… take all that out and it’s still really dangerous but not nearly as dangerous as the fatalities show.

That said, my life insurance has a clause that says it won’t pay out if I eat it racing motorcycles on a track.

That's what I would expect. Kind of like DH riding...I view that as vastly safer than road cycling. I have a motorcycle (SV650) but it's mostly collecting dust because riding on the road just seems like too much of a risk a lot of the time.

Dust it off for a cruise. It’s all about the route. There’s a little more safety in numbers.

Anyone wanna buy a 1985 Nighthawk CB650SC?
Needs a few things but is turnkey and runs and rides well.
6 speed manual transmisson
Shaft drive
Runs and rides very well.
Brand new rear tire, and front tire only has a few hundred miles on it.
New battery with Battery Tender lead on it.
Spark plugs recently changed, carbs recently cleaned.
New fuel petcock and inline fuel filter.
It will need a valve cover gasket eventually, as well as an alternator shaft seal...leaks a little bit of oil from the gasket currently. Also needs turn signal lens for right rear signal (there's amber tape over it now - I do have a new set of lights I'll include). Needs speedometer cable and/or wheel speed box.
Asking $1400 OBO and motivated to sell

If anyone is up for a ride lemme know. I’ll be out both days this weekend. Doesn’t have to be hundreds of miles. Just a couple hours. Casual pace on backroads.

I’m well versed in the Somerset, Mercer and Hunterdon and some Morris county roads. That’s where I usually ride. I’m willing to ride an hour to do a loop north or south.
Ah yeah I'm quite far south in Manahawkin lol. I usually do a loop up the shore, or west or south. Today I was thinking up 571 to millstone twp area

Crap. That’s a bit of a ride for me today or tomorrow. I have a friend in Sea Bright who rides. I’ll figure out a spot where we could meet in the middle and cruise the shoreline if that works for you.

So, I was driving to pick up my daughter last night and my friend John texted me - as I was driving by his house oddly enough. "Mike, a friend of mine has an 848 Evo [Ducati] that he's been talking about selling. Interested?" "Yes". As an aside, Android Auto is really pretty good about reading/composing texts.

Today, this 2011 Ducati 848 Evo followed me home:

The SEVENTY EIGHT year old original owner has been finding it too uncomfortable so he rides his Monster instead. 8500 miles. He threw in the lift it's on! It is shockingly clean. My neighbor, helping me get it off the trailer, said it looked like it just came out of the shrink wrap.
