Then I can count my cat when I workout at home. I think pets are stretching it. Human family only? I'm losing this whole contest cause I do most by myself anyway so I don't really care what the rules are. Haha!

In the case of feline, the cat would get the extra half point for having you there. not other way around

If his dog counts then my team counts!

i took a logic and proofs class in kolledge. these if..then things can lead to false conclusions.
ie. you just called the team a bunch of dogs. or actually you called them ian's dog, cause specific dog assertion.

or, to parse, i'm not sure his dog can count.....
