Does a man need to pack a hospital bag?

y'all gunna have to go home for stuff that was forgotten, so nah. just pick it up on the fly.

got the car seat inspected?

mrs peezy gets to pack this cool bag for going to the hospital in anticipation for little peezy, do i get to pack one? what should i put in it? essentials?
Yeah a cool bag with things in it to take her mind off of choking you out. But anyway, Cooler bag for champagne and laptop. Squirrel away as many diapers as you can from the cart cuz you go through 10 to 15 a day. That said, make the nurses do the work while you are there. Put a car seat in car too. What hospital?

It's like this.... Imagine the worst hotel you ever stayed at... Then imagine being trapped inside all day and night with nothing but 6 terrible TV channels, no bed for you, bad food, and a baby who at this point can only scream, shit and eat..... Its fabulous... Remember when you and mandi came to visit us? That was the absolute highlight of my stay.

My tip... Get two dogs, tell wife you need to run home and feed them/walk them... Don't come back until it's time to leave.

OK all kidding aside... Bring your bike and the trainer. Oh and ear plugs

I had a great experience at the hospital with both kids. I had an acceptable couch/pull out thing to sleep on. Nurses we super nice and were always checking in on us. And after the delivery there was an army of them scrubbing the room in what seemed like seconds.

As for what to bring....Cash for the cafeteria and coins for a snack machine. Maybe an extra shirt and tooth brush? You don't need much.

For starters... It could take a long time... My first was 28 hours and then we went in for an emergency C-section

How far is the hospital from Chateau Peezy? In reality you will only need a charger for your phone.

Definitely swipe as many diapers and formula as you can. @Blair is right. The kid will go thru a bakers dozen a day for the first few weeks.

Enjoy it man. Ride of your life is about to start.

True story... First kid took like 30 hours and at one point midwife tells me to go get something to eat. As I start to leave the room, wife in some deep demonic voice says "there is trial mix in the bag" I look at the mid and she smiles and points to the bag. No problem and I snack away on it. A few minutes later, contractions come hard and I go over to hold her hand and offer some words of encouragement. In the same demonic voice she says "your breath smells like peanuts....." You can't win.

Don't think of it as a medical procedure or a camping trip. Instead, try to imagine it as the set of a motion picture. Your wife is the screenwriter, producer, director, lead actress all rolled into one--"the talent". You are the gaffer, grip, key grip, best boy grip, python wrangler, gopher, fixer, boom operator, runner, camera operator, focus puller and caterer. It is your job to be prepared for and do whatever the hell the talent asks you to do. Perhaps most importantly, you are the press junket, which means you are responsible for marketing (including internet marketing), merchandising, franchising, etc... related to the production. Go armed with a pre-loaded email distribution list so you can send out the initial press release then sit back and start picking out all the brown M&Ms out of the bowl as per your contract rider.

No dad bag needed. Bring some $$$ for when you're not stealing your wife's food and that's about it. My stay was pretty pleasant. They had a convertible couch for me and plenty to watch on tv. It was like a Days Inn for me.

Thank you for all of the replies and stories, they were good to read. glad so many people actually visit this area, why are you always so quiet?

The hospital has a Chik Fil A and Panera in the lobby, so that should be dope. Since Chik Fil A Is closed on Sundays, we will have a Sunday baby. Or arriving at 3am.
I think I have my own fold up couch sleeping jaun too, so that is cool.
CMC Main hospital is 28 miles and 30+ minutes away, which is a huge wild card for us. It's pretty much in the middle of the city, so timing will be interesting

The Dad bag is more important after the first kid. Be smart and head home to sleep in your own bed. Once you see the crappy fold out, home is a great idea. Even though you will be too excited to sleep, the few hours will be great. Gives you some time to setup the last minute things at home and a few surprises for the Mrs & Jr. Flowers or some special junk food never hurt anyone.

Chik Fil A....I mean why am I not surprised? Im willing to bet mandi's hospital bed will have old nascar tires for wheels.

As far as the distance....no problem at all....where you live...any vets office should be fully equipped to deliver children, horse, etc.

Are you permitted to leave the hospital without your child being baptized?

car seat! car seat! car seat! you don't know how many dads i saw in the parking deck trying to figure the car seat out, or just get it in the car. good luck!

St Barnabas in Livingston has a taco/burrito place if there is still time to switch.

I was going to say pack a bag of snacks, but Chik Fil A covers that. I don't have kids yet, but when I do, I'll make sure to have snacks because the person who is usually in charge of snacks will be in labor.
