crickets
🙄
i was hoping for recaps and photos all day
Some of us were busy riding all day
😉
The Facebook page is littered with reports and pictures and whatnot.
Here's the 200k podium.
There were 5 guys and Selene in a break all the way up to about the 90 mile mark when Selene and Chris popped off the back. It came down to a 4-way sprint and ended up being Jake, Garth, Tom, and Jesse all finishing in 7 hours and 7 minutes. Average speed was well over 17mph. Brutal given how windy it was!!
Selene and Chris came in at 7 hours and 33 minutes.
On the other end of the race, Jed Kornbluh and Whit Anderson were locked in a heated battle all day for the Lanterne Rouge, ultimately ending in a dead tie. 12 hours and 51 minutes.
They took this picture this morning because it was very late when they finished.
Huge thanks to everyone that came out. Everyone seemed to genuinely have a good time, even those that were out there for a LONG time.
We could not have pulled this off without the army of volunteers and donations we received. The ladies of HbW were the backbone of this epic effort. Thanks to Sommerville Sports for setting us with tents and heaters for the aid stations. Thanks to Jean, Pat, Gabe, Sean, and his nephew for all your help, again HUGE. Thanks to 2nd Life Bikes for coming out to work the finish line, I know I was super excited to see Kerri after 8.5 hours on the bike!! And the biggest thanks to Sam and Tom for letting me run with this silly idea.
We will take what we've learned from this experience and improve to make our second installment even better. Hopefully the construction will be done by then
😉
