Great time at Otto's last night. Warm, dry (ish), and fast. Scott Sugent came down from the heights of North Jersey to join in the fun. Sure, six riders doesn't SEEM like a lot, but when it's dark, it's hard to tell...
Fun things about cross with lights:
When you're about to be passed, you get lit up. Literally. As your shadow gets shorter, if you've got anything saved for that last little push, it's go time.
Deer are scary at night.
If your lights aren't that great, you've got an add'l incentive not to lose that explosively incandescent wheel in front of you.
Jim's tail-light.
Packing up while watching Ilya reel solo lap after lap off into the night like a crazed bat-hunter.
The moon.
We started pre-riding at 5:30-ish. Official start was 6 on the nose.
Thanks again to Dan Larino, who is a nut.
