Coil curious

Looking for mid travel 29er fork options (150-170mm). I have had several mid travel air spring forks but considering a coil spring this time as the bike will be a light duty park bike next year. Not a do it all bike, cause they don't exist, and the bike will be a mullet with 160 rear travel if it matters. Just started looking and the Marz Bomber Z1 pops up often. Thoughts on this fork?

Marz pisses me off by not offering 38mm coil fork. Just use your fork now and throw in vorsprung smashpot.

I haven't found an airfork I like yet for small hit. Even had a pro set up on the latest. Starting to wonder if a dual crown makes sense on an emtb.

The DVO 38 WP is pretty awesome on my Kenevo

Vorsprung smashpot your current fork if possible, its a nice piece of kit and can be adjusted travel wise . Or swap mezzer from the following and slap a silver pike on that thing

I have a smash pot in an a1 Zeb with a 3.1 damper. Definitely works well with small bumps. I am pretty sure it binds up on bigger hits because the a1 lowers have smaller bushings than the a2 lowers with the bleeders. Just like a regular Zeb ultimate with an air spring, you would have to huck off you roof to flat to use all the travel. The DVO is the best fork I have ridden.

There are times when I wish I'd kept my old Manitou Dorado 29 (175mm travel). It was pretty light by dual crown fork standards and small bump compliance is really good for an air sprung fork with a hydraulic ramp-up system that makes the fork feel bottomless...

A stock bomber z1 will be more than capable For your needs. As a lighter rider who is pretty smooth i usually prefer the cheaper dampers over the over priced dampers with multiple adjustments.

FYI, per 2025 z1 coil has a grip damper, 2025 going forward has the rail damper( bit of a down grade). If the goal in park riding, good damping cuts down on “arm pump”.

Over thinking it. @qclabrat Just put a Z1 Bomber on it and ride your bike.

Not saying the high end dampers with a lot of adjustments are bad, but I'm pretty sure 90% of people who buy the highest end dampers just leave the settings at the setting in the setup guide.

I've been looking for non-rail Z1s for that reason. Seems Fox wants the Marz line to stay clearly on the lower budget rung.

It's 30 degrees out rn, I've got 4 months to ponder this...

Push just sent me their coil fork to ride for a month. I just sent it back.

This thing stuck to the ground like nothing I’ve ever ridden.

It’s expensive and heavy, but it an incredible fork to ride.

Made in the USA too.

I am a dealer now.

My buddy Joe went for the full push setup and he’s been raving about it. He’s actually more impressed with the rear shock. Both are fantastic

I just threw my Zeb back on and while my hands feel the extra bit of rattle, the fork is still fantastic.

If you want amazing traction, bottomless support and total trail control, the push setup should be on the radar
