Chimney Rock Conditions

Guesses for tomorrow? It's between CR, 6-Mile and Nassau. Thoughts?
6mr is so crowded on weekends unless you start at 7am. Nassau after the closures and lack of maintenance makes it meh. CR with the Cromwell extension makes the park so much more attractive. I'm lucky to be so close to a great park. Also had a flyby with Kirt and a corporate event trimming White. Thanks all!

A+ out there, about as dry as it will ever be without a drought. But then everything else turns to dusty marbles, so it's about as perfect as it will get.

Big thanks for the trimming work done on white!
Agreed, great conditions and many thanks for all that has been done. I'll get out there soon and get my share in.

That being said, this tree at Cromwell was too big for my Silky.

An update of sorts.

Things are getting dry out there, we need rain. Lots of loose rocks breaking free, making for some interesting sections. Just be aware.

Park(s) are 60%+ trimmed and running great aside from the dryness. The few spots that need attention will get done within the next couple of weeks. Thanks to all involved with helping on this.

Softball tournament at CR Park this weekend, so parking will be tough or impossible, park elsewhere if you go. And good luck to those girls playing.

Park Commission installed a bollard and removed the gate at the Gilbride lot into black. Thanks to Ranger Ryan for making this happen as it's so much better than squeezing into the trail head.

Thanks @Kirt for all you do, and everyone else! A week of 95°+ and yet still (small) puddles on blue… that’s the lovable charm of CR!

There’s one decent sized tree down on yellow towards the waterfall, before the gravel climb and then a smaller one on green just off Miller Lane, right near where you put down the bricks.

The trimming is very appreciated, as is everything you and the crew does there.

Bad news: Sun/Mon tackiness is gone, it's a dust bowl out there again
Good news: It just effing poured, so that should solve that for a few days at least

It looks like the downed tree on red was cleared, thank you!

BEFORE the rain found the 2 below trees, neither an impediment, but surely need to get cleaned up

this one on white is hanging over the trail, sooner or later could get worse (maybe even after tonight's storms)

this one on blue interior is lying right on the trail and blocking the entry to the rock roll (when coming downhill, pic if from downhill side looking back up)...you can ride around the tree and around the roll, so again not stopping anyone, but prolly needs to be remediated and some point

there'll probably be more after tonight's storms
