Chimney Rock Conditions

After Cromwell I rode up Vossellar and jumped into the White Rock side. Much better over there. Just wet in the usual spots, but nothing bad so I just rode in circles over there.

There is one blowdown at the bottom of Vossellar before you'd reach the first switchback on the climb back up. You can climb though it.

There's another on Granola.

I gave it a try mid afternoon. Rode blue counterclockwise coming down inner part, all of red, orange both directions and most of Cromwell counterclockwise however not the big rollers. Skipped yellow (time), and ballfield and white. Of the parts I rode, about 75% of it was good to great for riding. About 15% was soft though rideable or had some standing water but still firm enough to ride. About 10% of it I felt was really uncool that I was there.

How long typically does it take for the trails to be dry enough to ride after rain? Rain was pretty intense last night so I have doubts trail would be ridable on Sunday.

I'm planning to head out there early morning tomorrow to get some ride in, hopefully the small rain shower just now won't make things too wet. My ride route is black trail to cromwell, will report back.

Color me shocked if black isn't slop. Spots that usually are bone dry were wet the other day when I went. Good luck, hope it's a great ride!!!

We can easily make black high and dry. I kind of like that it stays wet and is a good indicator of the general condition of the park at its worst spots. If blk is dry, the whole place is likely dry too.

Stopped by early this morning and left quickly, black is wet in the typical spots. Cromwell is mostly dry and looks very rideable. I didn't rode much in Cromwell, only stopped by to take a look cause I wasn't feeling good. Watch for downed branches

Definitely appreciate that as a barometer.

Probably doesn’t matter much with more rain expected tomorrow, but black was questionable at best. Cromwell was great. Orange was a mess - so much standing water on both sides.
Red and white were ok-ish.

Still 90% good, but that 10% was really, really bad.

Any intel on the conditions?
I rode black, yellow/green, orange and Cromwell today - all fairly good. There are some muddy spots, but it'll probably be that way until June. Its enough to get you dirty, but not nearly enough to keep anyone away.

For those that didn't see the other thread, there is a race there Saturday morning (for runners along the yellow trails) - Registration starts at 8, race starts at 9. If you're going to ride just be aware the ballfield parking lot will probably be pretty full and avoid yellow until its all clear.
