This reminds me, I want to toss a strip chip in the mix next time just for good measure. Have fun!
SameJust ordered another bag since it is on sale. First bag is still going since march 2023. Trying the endurance chip too. Really cant see going back to oil.

Happy to see it's not just my work bench that looks like this...Just ordered another bag since it is on sale. First bag is still going since march 2023. Trying the endurance chip too. Really cant see going back to oil.

Mine reverts back to this state about 5 mins. After I clean it.Happy to see it's not just my work bench that looks like this...
I would venture to say they have a new chain for every time they line up.Do you think those chains get used more than one race?

Amateurs, that is what my entire garage floor, attic and workbench look all year round. Sometimes it gets worse...oh, and I've got the Silca setup as well now. Sitting on a workbench with a BNIB 12 speed Shimano chain ready to go, strip chip and all.Mine reverts back to this state about 5 mins. After I clean it.

I tried, and failed, to assess how many years it would take me at my current riding frequency to prepare a chain for a race...the closest I've got to an estimate so far is 3.5 years...They're run for ~300 miles, intensively cleaned, lubed, and used for one race/stage.
Brand new chains are so stiff laterally, they usually don't shift as well, and the burnishing from being run in gives them a fraction of a watt less friction.

But that was what the breaker thing the waxing place had, so they are already broken in when first used. They're run for ~300 miles, intensively cleaned, lubed, and used for one race/stage.
