Car-spotting thread

dropped car off at T to do some heat trace on my car see if the mice damaged anything elec. it’s a small fee $20 for a piece of mind. I asked for a quote to replace the mice tainted parts. Parts and labor came out to $2k. F that. I can replace all that on my own for like $500. Also, getting the upgrade to AP3. Driving long distance reminded me how amazing AP. Anyways on my way some photos I’ve snapped. Porsches , red Y next to red X (they’re pretty darn close in size), same color loaner

What does this cost btw? just curious

im not into the painted caliper look myself....but if it makes you happy rick, you have my blessing 🙂

@UtahJoe you should absolutely ceramic coat the Mustang before it goes on the road. DIY kits are like $100 and take a few hours one day and a few hours the next. I did it on the GLI and I'm happy with the results. The M2 has the commerical product Lee uses and it's lasted 3.5 years (on a garaged car, obvi).

My buddy put this on his 5-series. Crazy how the water beads up. Pollen on the car, just spray down, and squeegee off. Makes the color pop and look like glass. I was shocked at how smooth and good it looked.

haha remind me to consult your son when I'm new wheel shopping - yeah it's easy to go off the rails with wheels - I would never get something that ridiculous
your going to change the wheels?

ya after what that paint job cost....and I mean its like 50 times better than any factory paint job I have ever seen in terms of pure mirror finish...im terrified to even wash the car....but ya, I would have no problem spending X to protect it.

God, im sorry, Teslas are the most hideous and boring looking cars on the market today. Your older ones certainly look better, but that Y and the 3...my god...they are like 90s dodge neon level of pure boredom

theres alot of boring cars out there, unfortunately, but since that list doesnt simply call out all minivans as belonging its credibility is in question . . .

This is NOT a ceramic coating. It's a good, quick use product that will last a few months max. High shine, high hydrophobic properties, but not a bonded chemical coating.

Everyone is now using the term "ceramic coating" because the marketing works.

CarPro cQuartz UK 3.0 is a true, DIY coating that should last a year or two.

If all the cars on that list had a gang-bang, the bastard love-child would look like a Tesla. You'd think with all the freedom of not having a motor in the front, they'd design something sleek and sexy like the Fiskar guys did.

the fisker is better, but still not something i think id want to buy.

and just to be clear i wasnt defending those cars, just saying they left some of the most boring cso (car shaped objects) off the list.

You're right. Its $100 application vs a $1,000+ application.
