Just thing of how big of letters @Carson can use to write "PORSCHE" on that wing
Not sure what's going on there. Maybe they added extra oil/transmission coolers or something? Hopefully just testing. They look like they are taped on.

Possible front brake cooling. Instead of air blowing through, using low pressure to suck air out?

Somervillian Friday nights
Seen the 991 before, wants people to know he's fast. Don't see many LS6 vettes. Someone got a new Ferrari. Auburn is a show regular and always parks by Wolfgang's. And way too many Mustangs. About every 10 cars was a pony car

Did the 991 guy get a future speeding ticket? Those are crazy impressive numbers but I feel the license plate says plenty.

I dig that little Samurai the most

I see a time slip from a track in this guy's "credentials".

Question for those with more recent track experience: Can someone literally just drive up and run a car this fast with no issues? It's been decades since I was anywhere near a drag strip, but as I recall, if your car was gonna run below a designated e.t., you had to have safety equipment beyond street-car level (i.e. a roll cage). And maybe a competition license(?).

I know cars are WAY safer these days, but that's still crazy fast. If shit goes wrong, it's gonna go really wrong.

Lol, guy parked in a no parking zone. There were plenty of spots this past Friday so wasn't necessary

there is a cutoff for having a cage and all the safety equipment, if the car in stock form isnt expected to hit it they wont stop you until you break through it (if you show up talking shit that may change im not sure). Then its game over till you get the right equipment. At least that has been my experience

No, they cannot...there are a TON of safety rules for a car running this fast....full roll cage (nhra needs to certify the chassis), window net, parachute over 150mph, 9 sec license, fire suit, hans device, external power cut off, battery relocation, drive shaft loops, approved bellhousings, etc...MILLION things....HOWEVER...can you show up with a car that looks stockish...and a tech looks at it and has no idea how fast it can go? yes, easily...They you just drive up and send it...then they throw you out.

Here is a video of this run....really shouldnt even count since he crossed the center line...but as you can see he nearly loses control of the car...I would be shocked if the track didnt toss him right after this. I have seen guys tossed at island for doing alot less.

Isn't this slower than a base model Tesla at this point? I feel like bragging about 1/4 mile times is over being every Soccer Mom in Summit can outrun you 🤣
